🗓Two-day Regional Workshop on NEP 2020: Teachers Professional Standards, Management and Teacher Education in the North-Eastern Region of India was organized by Department of School and Non-Formal Education, NIEPA on 22-23 February, 2024 at National Institute of Technology, Agartala, Tripura. More than 50 participants including Deans, Head of the Departments of various universities and Teacher Education Institutes and Educationist from the North-Eastern region of India were participated.

The inaugural session was graced by Shri Rajesh Bhattacharya, Additional Director, Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Tripura and Prof. Sarat Kumar Patra, Director, National Institute of Technology Agartala, Tripura. Prof. Pranati Panda appraised delegates the importance of Teacher Professional Standards, Management and Teacher Education aligning with NEP 2020.

Workshop deliberated on few relevant implementation strategies for transforming teacher education sector in general and the DoE of Multidisciplinary Universities in particular and unfolded many unanswered questions and issues in the teacher education sector, especially in the northeastern region of India. The proceedings and recommendations emerging from the workshop were documented and shared with policymakers, administrators and academia.

Two day “Regional Workshop on Standard Settings and Institutionalization of Quality Assurance System was organized by School Standards and Evaluation Unit (Shaala Siddhi), NIEPA at Kerala in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Govt of Kerala on 18-19 December, 2023.
Nearly 60 participants, Director General Education, State Project Director, Director SCERT, Director SIET, Govt. of Kerala and Core Group members of Shaala Siddhi from 13 states are participated in the workshop.
Workshop deliberated on status of Shaala Siddhi, Standard Setting and Institutionalization of External -Evaluation, Strategies for effective implementation and school quality improvement for prospective school accreditation as envisaged in NEP 2020.During the workshop ,state specific frameworks were developed for the effective institutionalization of the External Evaluation/Assessment of the schools

The School Standards and Evaluation Unit (Shaala Siddhi), NIEPA in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Himachal Pradesh organized a two day Regional Workshop on Standards Setting and Institutionalization of Quality Assurance System on 16-17 November, 2023 at Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA). More than 60 participants from 17 northern, western, and eastern states have participated in the workshop. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Rakesh Kanwar, Secretary, Department of Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The inaugural session was also graced by Shri. Rajesh Sharma, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Himachal Pradesh. Prof. Pranati Panda appraised delegates the importance of School Evaluation-Shaala Siddhi in institutionalizing the school quality assurance system in school education sector.

Chaired a session on “A Critical Assessment of Inclusive Policies and Practices in Finnish Education System” delivered by Dr Sai Väyrynen, Director, GINTL Africa and China, from the University of Helsinki, Finland .Shared the Teacher Education Perspectives aligning to Inclusive and Equitable Education In India with University of Helsinki (UH), University of Jyvaskyla (JYU), Oulu University (OU) and Aalto University (AO).

NIEPA organized 2 days National workshop on National Education Policy 2020: Transforming Teacher Education in India. Shri. Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India addressed the inaugurated session. Prof. J.S. Rajput delivered the key note address. The inaugural session was chaired by our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Shashikala Wanjari. Prof. Pranati Panda presented the NEP 2020 and constructive pathways for transforming teacher education.

UNESCO New Delhi observes World Teachers’ Day on 5 October 2023. Prof. Pranati Panda was invited as an esteemed guest speaker at the UNESCO New Delhi, under the theme, “The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage”.

👩‍💼Two day “National Workshop on School Quality Assurance System in the Context of NEP 2020: Insights from Shaala Siddhi”, was organized by School Standards and Evaluation Unit (Shaala Siddhi) at NIEPA, New Delhi on 25-26 September, 2023. Nearly 50 SCERTs faculty, State Senior officials and Shaala Siddhi Nodal Officers from different states and UTs participated in the workshop. The workshop deliberated on major recommendations of NEP 2020 aligning with the Shaala Siddhi programme. It is appreciated by all the states and UTs that insights from Shaala Siddhi is providing directions towards transforming schools and effective implementation of NEP 2020.
