IIITD Student Senate hosted the third episode of "The Podcast- 11:59 PM Talks" on 4th April.
We were lucky to have super fun duo Anannya Uberoi and Shreyash Arya for the talk. The session received a great response with over 85 students joining us for this midnight extravaganza.

B.Tech's first year batch at IIITD will be starting with their end-semester exam from this week. The talk started with a general discussion around the first semester courses, professors, fun assignments, and exams. After this, there was a round of discussion revolving around college trips: Goa(2015), Pokhara, Nepal(2016), and Bhutan(2018). Everyone shared their "memorable" experiences from these trips and remembered the time when college trips were not on zoom :(
An idea of the Alum-connect trip popped out during the talk and we will look forward to it in the near future XD.
Anannya shared her journey to Amazon, Madrid and Shreyash shared his insights on the back-to-study transaction as he'll be joining Saarland Informatics Campus in Germany.
The talk ended with discussing higher studies options in Europe and life in Europe.

The talks will be held every fortnight, at 11:59pm. The speakers in the talk will be none other than IIITD seniors and alumni. This 11:59 PM is to be enjoyed and not feared.

IIITD Student Senate hosted the second episode of "The Podcast- 11:59 PM Talks" on 19th March.

We were lucky to have the powerhouse Shagun Kapur and all-rounder Nirmita Mehra for the talk. The session received a great response with over 50 students joining us for this midnight extravaganza.
As IIITD was celebrating cadence(Intra IIITD cultural fest) week, the talk began as Shagun shared her experience of the first-ever Cadence in 2017. Afterward, they both shared their personal experiences and guided juniors on how extracurricular are important to shape their personalities. Nirmita shared her journey of being selected for Media Labs, MIT and Shagun helped us understand the route she followed for her Masters. The host and guests talked about various memorable and fun incidents from Odyssey-2019 and other eventsIIITD. As both the guests were from the ECE department but excelling at different domains of tech, they shared their contrasting experiences and the journey in a fun way.

The student-faculty interaction organized by the student senate received an overwhelming response. 9 esteemed faculty members from the ECE Department, IIIT-Delhi guiding 100+ students regarding their area of interest as well as work opportunities, like Independent projects and M.Tech Thesis.
The feedback indicated that the session was very informative and motivating for the attendees.

The first talk tof this series(exclusive to the B.Tech 2020 batch) was organized on 26th February with Vrinda Malhotra and Taneea S Agrawaal as our guest speakers. The session received a great response with over 75 students joining us for this midnight extravaganza.
We started by discussing some of the changes that happened at IIITD after they graduated. Afterward, they shared their personal experiences and how the IIITD curriculum is helping them excel at their respective area of work. Drawing insights from their first-year experience, they talked about juggling extra-curricular activities with studies and dealing with the stress that comes with being in a competitive environment. The session was super interactive and mindful.

The 2-day FPGA workshop was a great success and witnessed enthusiastic participation from numerous BTech 3rd and 4th-year students along with working professionals. The students got hands-on experience of working with FPGA and the feedback was
overwhelmingly positive.
We would like to thank Dr. Sumit Darak for imparting such knowledge-rich sessions on Algorithms to Architecture and FIR Filters. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Electroholics club and the Academic section for helping in conducting the workshop smoothly.

The Student Senate recently hosted a week-long series, “interACT” where senior students who have established themselves in various fields came together to guide and talk to the junior students. The series was designed especially for BTech students studying in sophomore year and the MTech fresher year students.

With more than 40 speakers across 9 sessions, this series was a hit among students. It was a one-stop for students to get aware of different opportunities, hear the journeys of accomplished seniors, and even ask questions. Despite the limitations of online mode, the sessions were attended by more than 400 students. It is said that the smartest way to learn is to learn from others’ mistakes and achievements and this series provided just that. The sessions had very beginner-friendly yet detailed discussions about electives, internship preparation, research, and a plethora of other opportunities available at and beyond IIITD.

Every year, IIIT Delhi organizes B.Tech. Admissions Open House sessions for aspiring students. The program aims to get aspirants familiar with the IIITD campus and curriculum. On that day, queries from Parents and Students are also addressed by seniors and professors. Unfortunately, this year due to Covid-19 we were unable to host a physical open house. However, to help the students in making an informed decision, IIITD Student Senate organized the first-ever virtual open house session today. Around 100 students attended the same and got to know more about life at IIITD.
Big thanks to all the speakers, admins, and moderators to help us in organizing the session in the best possible way.
