Do you know The Springdales School in New Delhi, India? We were blown away by their hospitality and parallel pandemic teaching experiences. We reminisced about the mute button, the logistics of teaching online, and shared optimism for the new normal. This team could not have been more enthused to talk with the experts at Springdales.
Some exciting takeaways:
We had a tour of the school and discussed the demographics of the student population. The Springdales School serves students K-12.
Covid has changed culminated exam schedules this year in India. The summer holiday, usually in June and July, is only three weeks!
Teachers in India are highly regarded and respected, something that is unfortunately in decline in the United States.
If a teacher has impacted your life, comment below and tag them and let’s share the love we have for all teachers everywhere!

Day 7 was fun, as usual! We had a democratic deliberation with the students on the scope and presentation aspects of their final project using Photo Voice or Creative Voice. We are using a student-centered approach, helping students develop their reading, writing, and presentation skills. There is an extensive variety of passionate topics: The Tired Gender, Animal Cruelty, The Dowery System, Organ Donation, Health Care in Slums… the list goes on! Follow us for more information.
Shout out to for making a cameo in one of our presentations. She’s an outstanding musician and music teacher. Her private lessons are world-class! Check out her page for more content!

We visited Amity University last week and we are excited that they will be visiting us today to experience our Indiana University Global Gateway program to increase reading, writing, and presentation skills for undergraduate students. We want to say thank you to Amity University for the warm welcome and wonderful, insightful, and informative presentations on the education system in India. For our teachers attending this meeting was exactly what we are interested in learning. Their presentations had us engaged the entire time. We also, of course, enjoyed the chai and refreshments. Please follow the people and groups tagged below for more information…

This is Sun Seonmi, the most amazing person, and a PhD student at Indiana University. We were discussing the cultural differences we might see in India, and our goals for the program. Sun graciously shared her story of coming to American University using English as a second language, her progress as a writer, and a specific professor who saw her potential and helped her find her writing confidence. She shared some of her writing with the group and we were blown away! Thank you for you wonderful time and your expertise! We have been referencing our discussion all week here in New Delhi.
