Annual Function Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Government College Nerwa

The Annual Function at Government College Nerwa was celebrated today with great joy and enthusiasm. The event was graced by the Principal, Dr. Harbans Lal Sharma, as the Chief Guest, while the Vice-Principal, Prof. Balveer Sagar Kalsaik, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. This was followed by vibrant cultural performances by students, including Pahari Nati, Punjabi Bhangra, Rajasthani Dandiya, Gujarati Garba, and Bollywood dance performances. Traditional Pahari folk songs such as “Banka Mulk Himachal,” “Shuki Chiy Re,” “Banane Takhte,” “Surma,” and “Shukru Meta” created a mesmerizing atmosphere, compelling the audience to join in the celebration with great enthusiasm.
On this occasion, the Principal presented the Annual Report of the college, highlighting achievements in academics, cultural activities, sports, and other areas throughout the year. He shared that the academic performance of the college has shown consistent improvement. The undergraduate (UG) results over the past three years have been 62%, 68%, and 73%, while postgraduate (PG) results have reached an impressive 63%, 68%, and 75%.
During the programme, students who excelled in various fields were honored. A total of 108 students were awarded for academic excellence, 68 for co-curricular activities, 71 for sports achievements, 8 students selected for Agniveer, and 28 CSCA office bearers were felicitated with mementos and certificates. Additionally, students actively involved in clubs and societies such as the Road Safety Club, Eco Club, Red Ribbon Club, Rovers & Rangers, NSS, and other co-curricular activities were also recognized for their outstanding contributions.
In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of education, discipline, and continuous hard work, encouraging students to set high goals in life. The Guest of Honour also guided the students to adopt a positive outlook and fulfill their responsibilities towards society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. Vikas Suman, who expressed gratitude to all the guests, faculty members, staff, and students for their presence and support.
The event was attended by faculty members including Prof. Sanjeev Justa, Prof. Seema Justa, Prof. Dinesh Sharma, Prof. Varun Sood, Dr. Rohit Rehal, Prof. Amandeep, Prof. Kalyan Sharma, Prof. Virender Thakur, Prof. Dalip Sharma, Prof. Aradhana Negi, Superintendent Madan Gopal Chauhan, Harish Sharma, and the entire college family.
