Two Young Players from New Light School Win Bronze Medals at Pencak Silat Championship
Nanakmatta: At the 3rd Uttarakhand Cup Pencak Silat Championship 2026, organized by the Pencak Silat Association Uttarakhand, two talented young players from New Light School, Shri Nanakmatta Sahib, delivered outstanding performances and won bronze medals, bringing pride to their school and the region.
5-year-old Mankirat Singh won a bronze medal in the 15 kg weight category after putting up an impressive performance. 11-year-old Gurbaksh Singh also showcased excellent skills and secured a bronze medal in the 45 kg weight category.
The achievement of both young players has brought great joy to the New Light School family. School Manager Mr. Malook Singh Khinda and Principal Dr. Baljeet Kaur congratulated both players and wished them a bright future.
The school management stated that sports play an important role in developing discipline, confidence, leadership qualities, and team spirit among students. Mankirat Singh and Gurbaksh Singh have made the school proud through their hard work, dedication, and sporting talent.
