"Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers' Day," Dr. Radhakrishnan said in 1962.
Teachers’ Day serves as a reminder of the vital role educators play in shaping not only the lives of their students but also the future of society. It is a day for students to express gratitude for the dedication and hard work of their teachers, recognising their influence in providing knowledge and values. Teachers' Day in India is celebrated on September 5 to honour the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Born on this day in 1888, Dr. Radhakrishnan was not only India’s first Vice President and Second President, but he was also a respected Scholar, Philosopher, and recipient of the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. In the same way our ITEP department students did to make this teachers’ day memorable. This celebration was followed by poems, speeches, singing etc. Some comical tasks were given to teachers by the students to make it more humorous. Those tasks were commendably done by our respected teachers. They actively participated and showed how a teacher works and behaves according to different situations. Teachers’ Day is now celebrated nationwide to underscore the significance of educators in our lives and acknowledge their contributions to society. There is no day that’s possible without teacher’s guidance. Our students had done their utmost to make this day precious. They delivered self-composed poems, and gave handmade key chains etc. These days are not just for fun but they also reveal the hidden talent of students. They came up with inventive ideas and thoughts. They learnt the leadership skills, teamwork, collaboration with colleagues. Such days teach students that teachers are not their enemies but their closest friends who understand them and help them. The celebration featured inspiring speeches, heartfelt, poetry recitals, and mesmerizing cultural performances. Our Dean cm Registrar Prof. Atul Joshi delivered an address emphasizing the importance the role of Teacher in Nation-building. Our ITEP Students showcased their skills with enthusiastic and a melodious performance respectively. All Officers of Department, Head of the Department Ashok Upreti, all Faculty Members of ITEP department Mrs. Vineeta Vishwakarma, Mr. Laxman Singh, Shikha Kothari Pushpa Adhikari, Varsha Pant, Tez Prakash Joshi,DrSaroj Sharma, Akansha Shaily, Mrs. Deepika Bhatt and Dear Students, Parents were present in this specious occasion.
“The great teacher is not the man who supplies the most facts, but the one in whose presence we become different people.”
