Sainik School Nagrota celebrated its 57th Raising Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a vibrant spirit of camaraderie. The day-long celebrations brought together cadets, staff members, families, parents and distinguished guests to celebrate the institution’s glorious journey, rich traditions and achievements.

🥁 Ceremonial March Past
The celebrations commenced with an impressive March Past at Major Somnath Sharma Stadium, where cadets showcased exceptional discipline, precision, coordination and immaculate turnout. Sindh House emerged victorious in both Senior and Junior categories. 🏆

💪 Tug of War – Energy & Team Spirit
The newly admitted Class VI cadets participated enthusiastically in the Inter-Class Tug of War, displaying tremendous energy and team spirit. The participation of two teams of girl cadets added further excitement and vibrancy to the competition.

🏏 Staff vs Cadets Cricket Match
A friendly cricket match between staff and cadets provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen bonds, foster camaraderie and create cherished memories beyond the classroom.

🎯 Fun & Family Games
The evening came alive with a variety of fun games for staff members, their families and children, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere across the campus.

🎭 Cultural Extravaganza
The celebrations culminated in a spectacular cultural competition by the cadets, who enthralled the audience with vibrant performances, creativity, confidence and immense talent.

🚵‍♂️ MTB Adventure at Yol Cantonment 🇮🇳

15 cadets (10 boys & 5 girls) of Classes VII–VIII of Sainik School Nagrota, accompanied by Mr Shahbaz Alam and Ms Medhavi Sharma, participated in a Mountain Terrain Biking (MTB) programme organised by the Indian Army at Yol Cantonment, Himachal Pradesh, from 17–19 August 2026.

The cadets learnt about cycling equipment, gears and road-safety guidelines, followed by exciting cycling expeditions around Yol Cantonment. They also visited the International Cricket Stadium and War Memorial, Dharamshala.

The cadets thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience and expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army and School Administration for providing them this rare opportunity, which they said they would cherish for a lifetime. 🇮🇳🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Sainik School Nagrota celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and pride, as cadets and staff reaffirmed their commitment to the nation and its cherished values.

The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota, followed by the National Anthem. Appreciation Certificates were also presented to selected staff members in recognition of their meritorious service and dedicated contribution to the institution.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal urged cadets and staff to remember the sacrifices of the nation's freedom fighters and emphasised that the best tribute to them is to serve the nation with sincerity, discipline, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.

The celebrations received an added dimension of pride with a remarkable performance at the UT-level Independence Day Ceremony at MA Stadium, Jammu.

The twin honours recognised the discipline, teamwork, synchronisation, musical precision, ceremonial finesse and sustained preparation of the cadets.

Congratulating the contingents, Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, appreciated the cadets for their hard work, perseverance and disciplined preparation. He also commended the Band Master and NCC PI Staff for their dedicated training, guidance and meticulous preparation, which contributed significantly to the outstanding performances.

The achievements at the UT-level ceremony added a special dimension to the Independence Day celebrations at Nagrota and served as a proud reminder that discipline, teamwork and sustained effort transform preparation into excellence.

The celebrations concluded with a renewed pledge by the cadets and staff to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation and contribute towards building a stronger, progressive and prosperous India.

Parent-Teacher Meeting and Orientation Session

A Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was organised at Sainik School Nagrota on 16 August 2026 for the distribution of PT-1 examination results. The meeting provided an opportunity for parents to interact with teachers, review the academic performance of their wards, and discuss areas requiring further attention and improvement.

An Orientation and Interactive Session was also organised for the parents of newly admitted cadets of Classes VI and IX. During the session, parents were familiarised with the daily routine and schedule of cadets, supported by a pictorial presentation showcasing various academic, physical, co-curricular, extracurricular and training activities undertaken at the school.

The session also provided an opportunity for parents to gain a comprehensive insight into the day-to-day life, routine, discipline and training of cadets. Various queries and concerns raised by the parents were taken up and addressed satisfactorily by the concerned school authorities and faculty members.

Principal Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia and Vice Principal Sqn Ldr Poonam Yadav also interacted with the parents of the newly admitted cadets. They apprised the parents of the school's expectations, systems and practices and emphasised the importance of close coordination between parents and the school for ensuring the smooth transition and holistic development of the newly admitted cadets.

The PTM and orientation session served as a meaningful platform for strengthening parent-school communication and fostering a collaborative environment for the academic, physical, disciplinary and overall development of the cadets.

Patriotism came alive in vibrant colours, powerful performances and the innocent voices of young Chinarians as Chinar Primary School, Nagrota, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with immense enthusiasm, pride and patriotic fervour.

The celebrations began with a delightful Fancy Dress Competition for students of LKG to Class I, themed “Freedom Fighters – Our Heroes.” Dressed as iconic heroes of India’s freedom struggle, the little Chinarians brought history to life with remarkable confidence and enthusiasm, reminding everyone that the stories of courage and sacrifice continue to inspire generations. The competition was judged by Mrs. Damini Yadav, whose gracious presence added warmth to the occasion.

Students of Classes II to V presented a vibrant cultural extravaganza featuring patriotic songs, a mash-up skit, a mash-up dance, poems and speeches. Their energy, creativity and confidence transformed the celebration into a colourful tribute to the nation and its rich heritage.

Guiding the young performers throughout the programme was Headmistress Dr. (Mrs.) Siji Shibu Joy, whose inspiring leadership and able guidance ensured that the celebration was both meaningful and memorable. Addressing the students, she encouraged them to carry forward the values that define our nation—unity, courage, responsibility and an unwavering love for India.

As the celebrations drew to a close, the young Chinarians left everyone with a beautiful reminder:
Freedom is not merely a chapter in history—it is a responsibility we inherit and a legacy we must carry forward.

The day concluded with hearts filled with gratitude, pride and patriotism, celebrating not just the India that won its freedom, but the India that these young citizens will help shape tomorrow.

JD(I) Coy NCC Cadets Visit 7 Mahar Regiment, Sunjuwan Cantonment

A group of 21 cadets of the JD(I) Coy NCC, Sainik School Nagrota, visited 7 Mahar Regiment, Sunjuwan Cantonment, to witness an informative and inspiring weapon display.

During the visit, the cadets were introduced to various Army vehicles, including the Mahindra Autonomous Vehicle, as well as a range of arms used by the Indian Army. The visit provided the cadets with valuable exposure to modern military equipment and an insight into the functioning and operational preparedness of the Armed Forces.

Such visits are highly significant in motivating and inspiring cadets to pursue a career in the Indian Armed Forces. Firsthand exposure to military equipment and the professional environment of an Army unit helps inculcate a sense of discipline, patriotism and commitment to the nation.

The cadets were escorted by Mr Rajvinder Singh, TGT (Social Science), and Mr Puneet Mahajan, Wardboy, during the visit.

Principal, Sainik School Nagrota, inaugurated the renovated Chemistry Laboratory, adding a modern and stimulating space for cadets to experiment, explore and discover.

The new lab equips state-of-the-art faucets, a new LPG pipeline, upgraded chemical storage racks and vibrant educational displays—creating a safer, smarter and more engaging environment for practical learning.

The Principal emphasised that “learning by doing” is at the heart of scientific education and encouraged cadets to make frequent use of the laboratory. Hands-on experimentation will help them develop scientific temper, strengthen conceptual understanding and connect classroom knowledge with the world around them.

Nurturing Young Leaders & Lifelong Learners | Mrs Archana Mishra Graces Investiture Ceremony & Inaugurates New Library at Chinar Primary School Nagrota

Nagrota, 08 August 2026: Chinar Primary School Nagrota, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota, witnessed a memorable and inspiring occasion with Mrs Archana Mishra, Zonal President, AWWA 16 Corps, as the Chief Guest at the school's Investiture Ceremony.

The occasion was graced by Lieutenant General P K Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, 16 Corps, along with other senior dignitaries and officers from 16 Corps, who added distinction and significance to the event.

The Investiture Ceremony marked the formal assumption of leadership responsibilities by the newly appointed student leaders. Mrs Archana Mishra conferred badges upon the newly appointed office bearers, symbolising their responsibility and commitment towards leadership, discipline, teamwork and service. The young leaders took their pledge with confidence and enthusiasm, reflecting the school's endeavour to nurture responsible and compassionate citizens from an early age.

A vibrant cultural programme presented by the students added colour and enthusiasm to the occasion, showcasing their creativity, confidence and diverse talents.

A major highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the newly established Library at Chinar Primary School by Mrs Archana Mishra. The modern facility is envisioned as a stimulating space for young learners to develop a love for reading, explore new ideas, nurture curiosity and broaden their intellectual horizons beyond the classroom.

The presence of the GoC 16 Corps, Mrs Archana Mishra and other dignitaries provided the young students with an inspiring opportunity to interact with and draw motivation from senior military leadership.

Dr (Mrs) I Siji Shibu Joy, Headmistress, Chinar Primary School Nagrota, expressed her sincere gratitude to Lieutenant General P K Mishra, GoC 16 Corps, Mrs Archana Mishra, and all dignitaries and officers from 16 Corps for gracing the occasion and encouraging the young learners. She conveyed that their presence and support would inspire the students to pursue excellence, uphold discipline and responsibility, and grow into confident, capable and responsible citizens.
