On April 13, 2026, the Department of English organized an insightful educational visit to Adharwell School for Special Children, Nagpur. This experiential learning initiative was specifically arranged for the students of B.A. Part II as part of their curriculum-based field project. The primary objective of the visit was to sensitize students toward the educational and social needs of children with intellectual disabilities and to observe the practical application of inclusive pedagogical techniques.
The visit commenced with an extensive interaction session between the college students and the children at Adharwell, fostering an environment of empathy and mutual understanding. During the program, the school’s mentor teacher shared invaluable expertise regarding the specialized pedagogy employed to cater to the unique learning curves of the students. The briefing covered the various developmental milestones of the children and the specific instructional strategies used to enhance their cognitive and social skills. Furthermore, the mentor addressed the significant challenges faced by the institution, including societal stigmas, the need for specialized therapeutic infrastructure, and the intensive patience required in special education.
