Empress Mall once Empress Mill .The Land Of India's First Textile Mill

This fact will definitely surprise you. Even though Nagpur wasn't a major town in the 19th century, Jamshedji Tata chose to inaugurate the first-ever textile mill in India within its boundaries. The mill was called Central India Spinning and Weaving Company Ltd and started working in the year 1877. It was also known as Empress Mill as it was opened on the day when Queen Victoria was declared the Empress of India.
