15th August... The day all our students had been waiting for, nervously wondering if we were going to celebrate it as grandly as we used to. After a lot of thought and deliberation, we decided to give the kids what they wanted, and with the necessary safety measures, we conducted the event with the kind of grandeur that always made us proud about the sense of patriotism we have tried to instill in our kids and their families. Here are the pictures of the celebration, which went on for 2.5 hours from 9am, witnessed by students, parents, ex-students, teachers and our respected management team. We were honoured to have two guests with us that morning - our co-founder Smt. Sumathi Doddamani and our special guest, a 91-year-old "young man" who was in his 10th std when India got its independence. As always, after the program, everyone went back with sweet memories and a sweet laddu from the school. What a lovely day!

Behind the scenes... Practices for the Independence day went on for a week, with almost all 6th to 10th std students being in one item or the other and some lower primary students too. It took a lot of dedication, determination and discipline to get the moves correctly for the March past, dumbell and lezims performance by both the trainers/teachers and students. There was so much excitement, noise and fun that was totally missing for the past 2 years! And the result was the excellent program put up by all of them this morning. KUDOS SVVIANS!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

One of the most exciting month for us at Shri Vinayaka Vidyalaya used to be July. Despite it being a month when there were no holidays or festivals to celebrate, it was one which we used to look forward to, because one of the most celebrated events took place in July - Sevak's WORLD FAMILY DAY.

SEVAK (Society for Establishing Vishwa as A Kutumba) is a special task force to serve fellow beings and to create a healthy and peaceful world, which lives together as one loving caring family, a ONE WORLD ONE FAMILY. Acharya Vinay Vinekar is no stranger to SVV, as he has been visiting our institution for years and receiving our students at his ashram, where they've learned so much and had beautiful experiences.

This year, our high school children participated in the competitions organised on 24th July at the Ghati Ashram HOME OF THE MASTERS in conjunction with the 27th World Family Day celebrations. They enjoyed as they prepared for the Joy of Cooking video presentations, elocution video presentations and the spot competition for Salad making. Here are some pictures taken at the auditions, competitions and the visit made by 30 High school children, with Director of SVV, Kaverappa Raghavendra Doddamani.

21st June 2022 - The International Yoga day was thankfully celebrated in school with all students of SVV unlike the last two years, where students were confined in their own homes, practicing the asanas learned at school, taking photos and sharing it on their class WhatsApp groups. Once again, we were honoured to have Smt. Sumathi Doddamani, the Co-founder of our institution with us on this eventful morning, to present the asanas with our students of 3rd, 4th, 5th and high school. The event was hosted by Madhu (9th), and Chandana K. R. (9th), and two students, also from 9th, Akshara and Pruthviraj did the asanas upfront, to guide students. The other organisers of the event were Chandana G and Evanjalin. After the presentation of asanas by the students, the Director Mr. Kaverappa Raghavendra Doddamani, addressed the school and went on to introduce some of the more challenging asanas, which were presented by his mother, Smt. Sumathi Doddamani, much to the delight of the children. We sincerely hope that our children will continue to practice yoga and maintain good health and fitness as exemplified by our Co-founder and director.

With the academic year almost coming to an end, we are ever so thankful for the offline school days the children had this year. The 10th std students of this batch had their send off party on Monday, and though a small one, we're sure it was a memorable day for them. We wish them the best in their SSLC and pray for their success!! Kudos to all those who put the event together at such a short notice and made it happen!!

The much awaited academic year of 2021 /22 started today, with the 1st to 5th std students joining the rest of the students who had begun classes offline, on alternate days, a month ago. From today, school is open for all students daily, during the week, for half a day for 1st to 5th std, and full day for 6th to 10th std. We're so glad to have the children back and to finally be able to function like a proper school. All classes done with full care, with sanitization at every point and all teachers and students masked up! ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜ท

The pandemic might still be there, the situation might still be challenging, but nothing stopped our children from being a part of the celebrations of the Indian Independence day, held during this week, on zoom with their classmates and students. On the 15th August, the flag was hoisted at the school, by the director Sri Kaverappa Raghavendra Doddamani. The ceremony was attended by the staff of SHRI VINAYAKA VIDYALAYA. Pictures are attached here and pictures of the other celebrations via Zoom are shared in other posts.
