National Science day is commemorated in honors of Sir C.V. Raman for his legacy, who discovered Raman effect on 28th feb. 1928.
Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman (7 November 1888 – 21 November 1970) was an Indian physicist born in the former Madras Province in India presently called as Tamil Nadu, who carried out ground-breaking work in the field of light scattering, which earned him the 1930 Nobel Prize for Physics. He discovered that when light traverses a transparent material, some of the deflected light changes in wavelength. This phenomenon, subsequently known as Raman scattering, results from the Raman effect. In 1954, India honoured him with its highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna.
Raman's father initially taught in a school in Thiruvanaikaval, became a lecturer of mathematics and physics in Mrs. A.V. Narasimha Rao College, Visakhapatnam (then Vishakapatnam) in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, and later joined Presidency College in Madras (now Chennai).

సమాజసేవ చేయాలని ఏ ఒక్క చిన్నతలంపు మీలో ఉన్నా ఈ post ను తప్పక share చేయండి. ఎందుకంటే మన వల్ల ఏ ఒక్కరికి లబ్దిచేకూరినా అంతకంటే సంతృప్తి మరొకటి ఉండదు.
తల్లిదండ్రులు లేక చాలా మంది, ఉండి మరికొంత మంది నిర్భాగ్యులను అక్కున చేర్చుకున్న స్వచ్చంద సేవాసంస్థ SFRS (Society For Rural Scholars). గుంటూరు నగర నడిబొడ్డున గల ఈ సంస్థ లో 200 మంది పైగా పిల్లలు ఆశ్రయాన్ని పొందుతున్నారు. NRI Educational society పేరుతో అనేక విద్యాసంస్థలను నెలకొల్పిన ఐదుగరు NRI డాక్టర్లలో ఒకరైన డా.రవీంద్ర ఆలపాటి గారి స్వీయ పర్యవేక్షణలో నడుపబడుతున్న NGO (Non Government Organisation), SFRS.
2003 లో స్థాపింపబడిన ఈ సంస్థ నేపధ్యం .......
వైద్య వృత్తిలో పది సంవత్సరాల పాటు అమెరికాలో స్థిరపడిన డాక్టర్ గారి కుటుంబానికి వృత్తి పరమైన సంతృప్తి ఉండేది కానీ .... ఏదో వెలితి. ఒకరోజు సాయంత్రం గుంటూరు లో కుటుంబ సభ్యులతో కలసి కారులో ప్రయాణిస్తూ ఉండగా ట్రాఫిక్ సిగ్నల్ దగ్గర కొంతమంది యాచకులను గమనించాడు..అందులో ముక్కుపచ్చలారని పసిబాలలు ఉండడం చూసి చలించిపోయాడు.వాహనం వద్దకు వచ్చిన వారికి ఎంతోకొంత ఇచ్చి పంపించేయాలని అనిపించలేదు వారికి, మనం చేసే సహాయం వారి జీవితాలను మార్చేదిగా ఉండాలి....... ఇలా అనుకుంటూ ఉండగానే వాహనాలన్నీ ముందుకు కదలసాగాయి. ఇంటివద్ద కారు ఆగింది కానీ ఆలోచనలు మాత్రం అగలేదు. వారికి ఏదో ఒకవిధమైన సాయం చేయాలి....ఏమి చేయాలి ..??? ఏమి చేస్తే సరిపోతుంది...??? ఇలాంటి ఆలోచనల నడుమ పుట్టుకొచ్చిందే ....... SFRS. డాక్టర్ గారికున్న వెలితి తీరింది.
ఒక మంచి ఉద్దేశంతో ప్రారంభించిన NGO నేడు ఎంతోమంది పిల్లలను డాక్టర్లు గాను, ఇంజనీర్లు గాను, చార్టెడకౌంటెంట్లు గాను ఇంకా అనేక రంగాల్లో స్థిరపడేట్లు చేయగలిగింది.ఏటా కోట్లాది రూపాయలను వెచ్చిస్తూ నిజమైన శ్రీమంతుడనిపించుకున్నారాయన.ఇప్పుడు ఆ సేవలను జిల్లాకే గాక రాష్ట్రంలోని అన్ని జిల్లాలకు విస్తృత పరచదలచి , ప్రధానంగా ప్రతిభ గల గ్రామీణ ప్రాంత విద్యార్థులకు చేయూతనివ్వదలచి ఈ నెల అంటే జనవరి 29న Brilliant Student of A.P అను పేరుతో ఒక నికషను (Test) నిర్వహించబోతున్నారు.ఇది ఏ విద్యాసంస్థకు సంబంధించిన Entrance test కాదు,దయచేసి గమనించ గలరు. తప్పనిసరిగా ఈ అవకాశాన్ని అందరూ సద్వినియోగం చేసుకుంటారని తలుస్తూ........ మీ ఇండియన్ స్ప్రింగ్స్.
