The young changemakers of Class V at O.P. Jindal School, Angul, India, showcased remarkable creativity and environmental awareness through an Inter House Art Competition held on April 15, 2026, on the theme “One Sky, Many Nations: From Pollution to Solution.” The programme began with an insightful presentation by Ms. Afrina Jabeen, our EVS faculty who sensitized students about the growing concern of air pollution and its impact across neighbouring countries like India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and China, encouraging them to reflect on the shared responsibility of protecting a common atmosphere.Over 150 students enthusiastically participated in an artistic activity, expressing through their paintings both the harsh realities of pollution and innovative solutions, highlighting that despite borders, all nations are united under one sky. The Principal, Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu, appreciated the commendable efforts of students and teachers in promoting global awareness and environmental responsibility.

International Mother Earth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school, marking the culmination of a weeklong series of activities. The day began with a special event cantered on the 2026 theme, “Our Power, Our Planet” inspiring students and staff to reflect on their role in environmental protection. The campus came alive with green attire and creatively decorated bulletin boards, symbolizing commitment to sustainability. The special attraction of the event was the ‘wishing tree’ with touchy environmental messages. The celebration extended into action through a tree plantation drive and an awareness campaign in the township led by students & environment pledge too. A drawing and painting competition further encouraged students to express their vision for a greener future. Our Principal, Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu, urged everyone to show genuine concern for Mother Earth and highlighted the importance of collective responsibility. A dedicated team of students successfully coordinated the entire event. The vote of thanks was extended by Vice Principal Dr. Arun Kumar Dash.

Our enthusiastic students of Classes III & IV at O. P. Jindal School, Angul recently took a meaningful step towards a sustainable future through a vibrant Save Water Campaign inspired by the theme “A Global Journey – Learning How the World Saves Water.” As part of this engaging initiative, students explored water conservation practices from countries such as India, Ghana, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia. They then brought their learning to life by organizing an awareness rally across our Jindal Township, encouraging the community to use water wisely and responsibly. This activity not only deepened their understanding of global practices but also nurtured a strong sense of environmental responsibility at a young age. Their enthusiasm, confidence, and dedication truly showcased the spirit of young change makers! The event was coordinated by Ms. Sudha Ojha and Team.

OPJS Angul has once again upheld its legacy of academic excellence with remarkable results in the SSE-2026 (Class X) Board examinations, as declared by CBSE today, further strengthening its reputation in the region’s educational landscape. We are immensely proud to share that Dibyana Dibyasha Dehury of our school has secured the highest percentage with 98.4%, followed closely by Aditi Patnaik with 98.2%, while Ashtha Aditi Sahoo and Swastik Shivam Nayak both achieved an impressive 98%, and notably, 50% of our students have secured 90% and above marks. These exceptional results stand as a testament to our commitment to quality education, holistic development, and academic rigour.

The World Art Day was celebrated in our school today with great enthusiasm and creativity. The program began with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of art, followed by a special felicitation of the students who have contributed to the field of art and brought laurels to school at the state and national levels. An inter-house drawing and painting competition for classes IV to VIII was held, where all the students actively participated and showcased their talents. Our Art Teacher Mr. Khetrabasi Mohanta coordinated the event with the Activity Team.
