At First Brick Pre-School, we strongly believe that play is an integral part of young childrens' lives and children learn through play. Young children learn through their five senses. They need to be able to touch, feel, smell, see and taste. Thus, children learn by doing what they do best, playing. Our play based curriculum is developed around developmental appropriate practices. We understand that play enhances children’s physical, social/emotional, brain development, creative growth. It is the hallmark of a child’s healthy development. Our curriculum revolves around the educator as well as the children. The educators facilitate play and reinforce what children learn through
play indoors as much as outdoors. Our activities include dramatic/imaginative play, manipulative play, sand and water play, art,
stories, songs, rhymes, big movement play, cookery and sensorial Play. Our programme is carefully planned and executed by the staff to benefit the child’s own needs and developmental levels. Art Classes
Enforcing a strict curriculum during art lessons may restrict/impede a child’s development in personal creativity. In recognising that
each child is unique, our personalised approach coaxes the little artist out of each child. You may be surprised at the individualistic pieces of
art your child produces! Working in a group setting encourages healthy competition and mutual inspiration amongst classmates. Our approach seeks to quell feelings of inadequacy that might result from over comparison by guiding your child in discovering the kind
of art they excel at, i.e, blending techniques, portraits, landscapes, shading etc

The Course will cover:
• Learning about colour techniques.
• How to paint from your imagination.
• Learning how to be unique and being proud of your masterpieces.
• Introduction to acrylics and canvas.
• Learning which brush to use for which medium and how to take care of your equipment.
• Learning to be confident in what you paint. • Respecting your work and others.

Imaginative Play
Come join in the fun and play shop keepers, chefs or fashion designers! Imaginative play opens up the child's mind to fantasy, imagination
while simulating real life – allowing them to make up their own storylines to act out. It helps the child to create play situations with simple
materials. Let the child learn how to explore their environment with activities that develop their imaginative minds. Wet and Wild
Children will strip off and enjoy an afternoon of water games and activities. We will be putting the paddling pools out and each child is able to
enjoy an afternoon of fun with water pistols, water slides and team games. Bring along your wet suit, sun cream, sun hat and towel and see how wet you can get the teachers. Music and Dance
Research has shown, early experiences with music set the stage for success in language reading and maths. Children will be able to experience
different genres of music and a wide range of different sounds, make their own instruments and be introduced to different instruments and
the sounds they make. They will also be introduced to different types of dance from different parts of the world. This is a good form of exercise and fun. They are able to express themselves through making up their own songs and dances, helping them to develop creativity and confidence.
