It has flourished in course of time. Its foundation dates back to 9th January, 1944. Initially it was a Middle English (M.E) school that started running with scanty students. As ‘Rome was not built in a day’, this also took much time to stand tall. If we chug down the memory lane some years emerge in the history of this school with their own significances. In 1947 India achieved freedom. In 1950 e
xodus of people of India and Bangladesh had much to do with the fresh foundation of this school. It was given a new face-lift in 1954 and named Bhimpur Junior High School. On 2nd February 1955 class V and vi were sanctioned. On and from 2nd April 1958 it started running as a 4-class Junior High School. In 1963, it was rechristened Bhimpur Swamiji Vidyapith. On 4th August 1999 it was upgraded to a Higher Secondary school. The honour of being the first Headmaster of this school goes to Sri Shyamsundar Malakar. Sri Karunamay Biswas as a Headmaster of this school, came out with flying colours. He shouldered the responsibility of running this school from 1965 to 1995. The existing Headmaster Sri Dinabandhu Mandal has helped the school bask in glory with his whole hearted and unflagging efforts.
