The growth rate of Bihar had ever been far below the all India average in spite of huge potential of human resource. Keeping in view of the need of skilled personnel at all levels of management, some social thinkers, economists, philanthropists and the statesmen founded L. Mishra College of Business Management in the year 1973 under the noble guidance of Dr. Jagannath Mishra, the then Chief Minist
er of Bihar on inspiration of Late Lalit Narayan Mishra, the then Union Railway Minister, Government of India. Mishra College has been pioneering Management Education of Post Graduate level leading to MBA degree of B. Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, in order to cater the growing needs of professionals. In addition, MCA Course was added to the gamut of this campus from 2002 in pursuance of approval of AICTE. of Bihar, Patna has concurred its affiliation vide letter No. 14/B3 - 036/2002 Higher Education 303/Patna Dated 09-05-2003 to start BBA and BCA courses from academic Session commencing July, 03 as a regular course. The locational advantage of the college has boosted its latent potential to such extent that it has built up a team of about 6500 young executives so far. The basic infrastructure, state-of-the-art computer lab, computerized library information system and connectivity to world wide web has made a firm foot in a quite innovative and update queue to shape the career of generations. The excellence at par has compelled the apex body - All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi to grant approval to this college. Empanelment in Section 2F of University Grants Commission has enabled it to get development grants at times. Maintenance of academic calendar, conduct of the examinations and publications of results in time being normal feature of the college is perhaps one of the reasons that it could get special status even after being constituent unit of the then Bihar University. This is the only institute enjoying autonomous status in whole of North Eastern Zone of India. The team spirit prevailing in the campus has built up a team of jewels managing operating in a global market. Visits of eminent academicians/executives being a regular feature has made the course curriculum interactive corporate in view the ever changing business scenario in the globalize era.
