Parents –Teachers Meeting at Natun Hasanpur, Bodhoday Vidya Mandir of Murshidabad District.
On 16th November 2013 our pre-primary and primary Teachers of Natun Hasanpur Bodhoday Vidya Mandir School under banner Dominique Lapierre Education Project holds a Parent Teacher meeting where 121 parents attended the meeting. The main agenda of the meeting is to discuss regarding the studies and progress of the students’, new admission, code of conducts, punctuality and what the goals are for children in school during this session. All the participants enjoyed the programme very much. The session ended with vote of thanks from the Head Mistress of the said school.

Education and Training Division of Asha Bhavan Centre come to an end with Teachers’ Review and Planning Workshop at Srabani Lodge situated at Katwa under Burdwan district on and from 17th April to 19th April, 2013. To estimate the schools performance of the running session 2013 -2014 and also to design development plan for the coming session in presence of head of each schools from different districts of West Bengal. 36 participants from several Bodhoday Vidya Mandir attended the same. On 17th April, 2013 at 4 pm, the programme was launched with a speech and thanks giving of the administrator. The Programme Manager disclosed the mission and sketched out the following agendas to the participants for finalizing the points of discussion such as project goal, New Year budget, implementation strategy of newly adopted syllabus prescribed by State Government, stake holder’s analysis and their involvement, gap identification, hurdles and overcome strategies. He affirmed ornately all the above points among participants. A group discussion session was arranged on School development module. All participants were divided into five groups. Each group discussed their vision on the stage. At the end of the session a small exercise were taken on work plan for the current session. Each participant actively participated and enjoyed it very much. After feedback session and honour to advisors the session came to an end at about 12 Noon after taking lunch on 19th April 2013.

On 4th April 2013 a parents-teachers meeting was held at our Natun Hasanpur Bodhoday Vidya Mandir School of Murshidabad district under Dominique Lapierre Education Project for deprived children. 83 parents participated in the programme. Mr. Giyasuddin Ahmed, advisor of the said school also chair the programme. The following agendas were discussed -
- Studies and progress of the students’
- Syllabus of forthcoming 1st Term examination
- Proper utilization of library & computer facility
All the members enjoy the programme very much. The session ended with vote of thanks from the Headmistress of the school.

The trainees from the schools of Bodhoday Vidya Mandir Chain (92%) and Special Education Division of ABC (8%) arrived at the venue well ahead of the scheduled time. At first we had faced troublesome there due to unavoidable circumstances of sudden illness of dehydration among 7 participants (8%) in this venue. They were under medical practitioners and conferred relief soon to join this session. A little bit annoy made us unhappy but their smiling face by enthusiastically joining us surely inspired to other participants and management to conduct the training programme effortlessly and appropriately. We were able to start our programme in stipulated time & dated. Hence, the Registration session was taken at 4.00 p.m. After registration of the participants, the first session was begun at 8.p.m.That was basically an introductory one wherein all the participants and the trainers were being introduced by other peer members. The ice-breaking exercise generated a good response as at the end of the session, most of the members were in a position to call others by their respective names. The objective and purpose of the training were thoroughly explained by the project manager .He stated that we will go through the new way of thinking about a significant changes of our attitude & also developing skill updated, knowledge for qualitative education through newly adopted course context of the Education Department of Government .The rules that are to be observed during the training program were explained and the responsibilities of the participants were distributed among themselves forming small groups. Ground rules were developed & selected leader from participants. Training kits were distributed. Some basic questions on same and related issues were asked to assess the present knowledge level of the participants and it was observed that many of the participants especially new appointed teachers’ have received no training on same facilitation Finally, before starting the topics, the expectations of both the trainers and the trainees were shared within a congenial environment.
The Second Day on 22.3.2013-
The session began with the “Learning disabilities’ and ‘Micro Teaching ‘ after that a the participants made a small presentation on the recapitulation through cultural meet in the evening about the discussions of days. On base line surveys Inspector of Schools, well thought-out Pre-Testing Questionnaire which was used to measure the level of awareness and knowledge of the participants so that findings are to be compared with the Post-Training Assessment of the participants.. It was also done the procedure of the process of pronouncing English was taught using the tongue of every participants to clear the phonetics of language.
Dr. R. Mishra despite his busy schedules, join us and took the initiative to visit the training program and deliver an inspiring speech mostly on the role of Teachers’ in promoting basics health of learners for major developmental activities of Schools..
Major discussions of the day were teachers and students psychology in teaching learning process through joyful & participatory learning and in the second half the trainer facilitated how to teach in class room. Methodologies were lecture, games, large group discussions, story telling, small group exercise, etc.
In the evening our President, Director along with beloved abroad friend David Caloz meet with participants. Project Director, Mr. J. M. Barui, was kind enough to address the trainees & took part in small but nice speech. He also spends his valuable time for participation in the evening session conducted by the participants providing basic information in connection with their school performances.
The Third Day on 23.3.2013-
This day’s major topic for the first session was conducted by David in his short speech, shared own experience about the academic scenario of different countries where he travelled. Teaching dilemma, problem solving, Classroom management and motivation discussed latter by S.N. Das, President of Asha Bhavan Centre. First of all, the trainer explained the need of learning and keeping habits of school readiness as enough as possible. All the participants participated fully and enjoyed the training very much. Also, the trainers asked questions to evaluate the depth of observations and analytical skills of the participants. The trainees clearly understood that the purpose of teaching in the class room same was to identify the best practices on 5 Es of effective learning i.e engage, explore, explain, expand, & evaluate. And then to implement them in their own groups or on the groups they are nurturing. He also explained about the sustainability of the project Behaviour modification was also taken into explanation. In the evening session was more interactive on the topic Child Rights and corporal punishment in presence of S. Guha. After that the trainees were asked to provide feedback on the entire training program using a structured format. Also, the expectations of the trainees that they had disclosed on the first day were handed over to them for comparing how far those expectations have been fulfilled during the training program.
The Fourth Day (24.3.2013)
The trainees were given all of travelling expenses and taking lunch depart towards destination. Finally the programme came to and end.
