The Family Managed Business (FMB) program at SPJIMR prepares you to take up leadership role and to have a positive influence in your family business.

"It feels really overwhelming... everywhere I see, we have some memory." says Ms Aarushi Deewan (FMB 34) while on the SPJIMR campus! This time, her visit was extra special, she returned not just as an alumna, but as a co-mentor for her younger brother, Mr Utkarsh Deewan, during his orientation for FMB 39.

For Aarushi, coming back meant reconnecting with the "warmest people"- the teachers and staff who made her journey memorable. But more importantly, she reflected on how her time here was about more than just a degree; it was about "broadening the perspective through life and business."

At SPJIMR PGPFMB, we don't just build businesses; we nurture leaders who will carry family legacies forward. Seeing our alumni return to guide the next generation is the ultimate testament to the strength of our community.

Welcome to the family, Utkarsh! And welcome home, Aarushi.

Throwback to an engaging conversation at Viraasat 2026 with Reni Pandya from FMB 13. As a business woman, she brings in a whole new perspective to any business. From out-of-the-box thinking to non-impulsive, strategic decision-making, she believes women are the emotional anchors - the Sutradhars - of the firm. They don’t just manage operations; they manage the very ‘emotion of the business’.

Thank you Reni Pandya for describing the spirit of Viraasat as ‘Alive’ and ‘Full of Humility’

At Viraasat 2026, the conversation around AI wasn’t just about tech - it was about people. As Samarth Soni shared, the AI journey starts with efficiency but leads to true innovation. Yash Bhageria concurred with this while Anupam Jacob mentioned it is to find a secular way to make technology work for people, not replace them.

What begins as a belief that business works differently for everyone slowly evolves into a deeper understanding—while paths may vary, the core principles remain the same.
Through reflections and honest insights, Mishank Chhajed, Neelkanth Vashisht, Ayushman Dalmia, and Priyal Gupta share how this journey helped them question assumptions and uncover fundamentals that were never really taught growing up.

A glimpse into the learning experience at the SPJIMR FMB Programme—where perspectives shift, and clarity begins.

As part of the very first Samagam for FMB 39,we had Mr. Chetan Kejriwal, - SPJIMR PGDM alumnus from the Batch of 2020, currently Associate Vice President at Kotak Bank, on campus to address the young FMB participants.

The session focused on the power of personal branding and social media, especially LinkedIn as a tool for professional growth, drawing from his own journey.

The session encouraged students to think beyond traditional networking and recognise that in today’s world, how you present yourself online is as critical as professional competence.

Thank You Chetan Kejriwal for this impactful session!

Inside the classroom, students explored how pricing is more than just numbers—it’s a balance of cost, value, and customer psychology.

Featuring Neha Arwade, Manav D Jain, and Parth Nagda from FMB 37—currently in Phase III, the final leg of their academic journey before moving into the Business and Role Plan phase.

Because in the end, there’s no one “right” price—only the right strategy. The real question is: what story does your price tell?

From the Family Boardroom to Building New Ventures: A Journey of Grit, Legacy, and AI
What happens when a national medal-winning athlete steps into a legacy family business? You get a masterclass in resilience and innovation.
We were thrilled to host Mr. Yashvardhan Mishra (FMB Batch 26) for our latest Exemplar session at SPJIMR. Mr. Yashvardhan shared his raw and inspiring transition from the world of competitive sports to the strategic boardroom of Supertex Industries Limited, a BSE-listed legacy enterprise.

Key highlights from his talk:
● Success doesn’t come overnight.
● When an opportunity presents itself, you have to be ready to pivot and grow into it along the way
● Always enforce your terms early and stand by them: any concessions can quickly become permanent expectations.
● There is a lot of wealth in unglamorous businesses, where established markets offer superior margins.
● A strong network only has meaning if you bring something valuable to the table Yashvardhan’s story is a powerful reminder that whether you are in a legacy business or building your own venture, the courage to forge your own path, while respecting your roots, is what creates sustainable growth.
