OUR PROJECT
D’Souza Trust Cancer Hospital D’Souza Trust Cancer Hospital is one of the prestigious project under the aegis of D’Souza Charitable Trust which was founded in the year 2007. The Trust was established for the welfare and development of poor, down trodden, backward class families to look after the primary educational and higher education including management, engineering, medical, fire safety etc. This trust has also established the Mumbai Institution for Management and Physical Education and is running presently the D’Souza College of Management. It is affiliated to various National and International Universities such as UGC, AISECT, IGNOU and Maharashtra State Technical Board. Cancer hospital is one of the prestigious project with the objective of growing health needs of populations in the outskirts of the city residing in the villages of Palghar District. At the outside, there are no cancer hospitals in Palghar district and those cancer patients have to travel all the way to Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad for their which treatment which is so expensive, time consuming and harassment for the patient and their relatives. Many patients cannot survive and they give up before reaching the hospital. Cancer hospital in the interior village of Nalasopara and Vasai would pave the way and be a boon in disguise for the villagers staying in Nalasopara, Vasai, Virar and those Dalit and backward class, down trodden families residing in Palghar district. There is an emergent need for patient’s care, treatment of patients since the disease is increasing alarmingly day by day with changes in the topography, the standard of living, the technological changes, the pollution, the life styles of individuals. The percentage of cancer patients undergoing treatments at hospitals in Mumbai, Pune etc. has gone up and there is dire need for bringing up a hospital in the outskirts of Mumbai and Pune So that those patients residing at places between the two cities would be benefited by the same. The cancer hospital project is unique in the sense that it has taken into consideration all aspects relating to the patients care, technology, research and developments with the international features of environmental friendly service to the patients. The hospital has the facility of guest rooms for the relatives of patients coming from different locations in India. It has Hi-tech infrastructure with roads connected to the nearby station and highways so that patients are not put to trouble and ambulance pickup from residence to hospital and vice-versa. The hospital is specious with garden and recreation rooms. It has a separate departments for training of doctors, resident nurses and trainee nurses with training aids such as computers, laptops, screens, projectors, auditorium and conference hall with sufficient sitting capacity. The faculty for training would be highly qualified and experienced doctors from India and Foreign countries. International Technological Development, new and up-dations in medicines, Radiation Therapy, research on the effects and ill-effects of Chemotherapy, stem cells and biotechnology with improved version for treatment of various forms of cancer. This hospital has radiation rooms which are of international class which bears resemblance to Tata Hospital in Mumbai. The number of patients served is the largest than any other hospital with one of the most patient friendly environment with nurses always at the service of the patients. The radiation room is equipped with transformers, X-Ray, Colour-dopler, 2D-Echo, Hi-Tech Sonography machines with modular beds, lighting systems, centralize AC ducts. The radiation room is specious with all sorts of safety and security mechanism for the benefit of the patients. This hospital has looked after the interests of the doctors, trainee nurses and resident nurses, staff, ward boys/girls who come from distant places and who are unable to travel daily from their residence to hospitals and vice-versa. So, the hostel facility is also provided to the foreign doctors, Indian doctors, staff nurses and trainee nurses with mess facility, entertainment and recreation rooms. There are separate clinics for doctors, changing rooms for doctors and nurses. Vehicles are also provided to the relatives of patients to and from the station-big buses would ply as per the time schedule and in case of emergencies there are ambulances which runs round the clock and which gives free service to the patients from their place of residence to the hospital. Inter-Hospital transport service is also provided by the ambulances with Hi-tech equipments such as Oxygen cylinders, First-aid equipments, one doctor, one nurse and ward boy. The cleanliness and hygiene would be world class with effective dust removal technology, garbage bins and for disposal of medicinal/hospital wastes. CCTV cameras are placed on the gates, clinics, Radiation room, Training room, Hostel gates and inside the compound for monitoring the security control room located at main gate. There is a canteen facility provided for the relatives of patients, visitors, doctors, nurses and hospital staff. The pharmacy is open 24x7 with all kinds of medicines at reasonable rates affordable for the patients and their relatives. There is also a library room just outside the Dean’s cabin for the benefit of doctors (Resident and trainee). The Pathology Laboratory is well-equipped with latest technology and efficient pathologists with world-class equipments for accurate readings, tests, reports and analysis of the depth of the patients’ illness with ample scope for its diagnosis and treatment. Special cancer care cells are established for new patients for conducting tests (positive or negative) and their suitable guidelines and counseling. Foreign delegation with emphasis on technical knowhow, related to engineering, IT, technology and medical science and foreign doctors with international experience and knowledge, tie-up with International Health Organisation has tremendous scope in this Hospital. Looking to the growing concern on health and dreaded fatal diseases like cancer, this Hospital has come up to put an end to the pain and agony being suffered by cancer patients with helping the relatives to take care of the cancer patients who are in the last stage and to completely cure patients in the first and second stage. It serves to benefit the needy patients who are poor, down-trodden, coming from rural areas, backward regions with financial distress to help them with necessary financial assistance, counseling and world class treatment.
