Today 22nd August 2026, an AISF Mumbai delegation met the CJP National Organisation Coordinator Ajinkya Shinde extended solidarity to the ongoing Campaign.

For the last three days, AISF Mumbai has been actively participating in the campaign to raise issues of infrastructure, hygiene, teachers and basic facilities in BMC schools. We will continue this struggle—not just in schools, but also by visiting hostels, university campuses and other educational institutions across Mumbai.

Public education deserves public accountability. AISF Mumbai stands with every student fighting for dignified, safe and quality education.

We also Met Vlogger Faizan who Captured each Movement of Jantar Mantar Protest. We extend Revolutionary Greetings to him and stand strong with him.

DAY 3 | Continues!

Today, AISF Mumbai continued the campaign and visited two Mumbai Public Schools in Sewree.

🏫 Prabodhankar Thackeray MPS: We were denied entry by the gatekeeper. The Principal met us at the gate and showed us a news report stating that BMC officials had directed that visits to MPS schools require permission.

🏫 Baradevi MPS: The gate was locked when we arrived. After the gatekeeper arrived, the Principal was called and again showed us the same news report. Meanwhile, the school was functioning while renovation work was underway, with workers moving around the premises in inappropriate clothing. When we raised the issue, the workers were asked to move inside. Shortly afterwards, Police arrived at the school.

🚨 Our question remains: Why is a Social Audit of PUBLIC Schools treated like a threat?

For three days, AISF Mumbai has been on the ground, visiting public schools, observing conditions and raising questions. Locked gates and police calls cannot silence the demand for accountability.

We will begin Monday by meeting the Assistant Commissioner, Education Department, to seek permission for a transparent Public Social Audit of Mumbai Public Schools.

We will inspect. We will question. We will organise. We will continue.

AISF Mumbai’s Social Audit

Today 20th August 2026, an AISF Mumbai delegation visited Mumbai Public School, Parel Poibavdi Municipal School Building, as part of our ongoing Social Audit.

The delegation included Com. Aamir Kazi, Com. Pratham, Com. Maham and other AISF Mumbai comrades.

Despite politely approaching the gatekeeper and Principal, the team was denied entry and the gate was shut on our faces.

The AISF delegates then sat in protest outside the school gate, peacefully appealing to the Principal to meet the delegation and address our questions regarding the school’s facilities and functioning.

Instead of meeting us, the school administration called the Police to stop our peaceful protest.

Why are they afraid of a Social Audit?

We are asking legitimate questions about a public school—its safety, hygiene, infrastructure and facilities.

Police calls, closed gates and intimidation will NOT stop us.

AISF Mumbai will continue .

School Thik Karo: Inspect. Question. Fight. ✊

Today, AISF Mumbai members visited three BMC Mumbai Public Schools under our campaign to understand the ground reality of public education.

📍 Jagannath Bhatamkar MPS, Parel
Two floors are occupied by BMC Education Department officials, while the school operates from the ground floor and is run by an NGO. Washrooms were unclean despite a private agency being responsible for maintenance. Fire extinguishers were expired, and large public dustbins were placed outside the school wall.

📍 Jaffarbhoy Rehmatullah MPS, Dongri
The school was clean, but there is a serious shortage of teachers — only 3 teachers for Classes 1–8. Two Adani-appointed teachers reportedly visit weekly.

Why is BMC not filling its teacher vacancies? Why is the Adani Group being allowed to intervene in a BMC public school? Public education cannot become a space for corporate intervention.

📍 Dongri MPS, Sandhurst Road
The school was found in good condition, with clean washrooms and water facilities. Teachers were qualified. However, teachers are sometimes burdened with non-academic government duties, affecting classroom work.

Our Demands

✊ Fill all vacant teaching posts immediately.
✊ Ensure qualified teachers for every class and subject.
✊ Stop corporate intervention in BMC public schools.
✊ Keep schools safe, hygienic and properly maintained.
✊ Teachers must not be burdened with SIR, Census, Election Duty and other non-academic work.

Public Schools deserve public investment, not neglect and corporate control.

🇮🇳 THE SPIRIT OF 1942 LIVES ON!

On 9th August 1942, thousands of students and young people came out onto the streets in response to Mahatma Gandhi's call of "Quit India!" Their courage, sacrifices, and determination became a powerful force in India's freedom struggle. Among those leading the resistance was AISF member and freedom fighter Aruna Asaf Ali, who hoisted the Indian Tricolour at August Kranti Maidan, inspiring the nation.

Today, history calls upon a new generation.
