Vijayadashami or Dussehra is an important festival. It marks Lord Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana, symbolizing the triumph of dharma (righteousness) over adharma (unrighteousness). Across India, Ravana’s effigies are burned, accompanied by Ram Lila performances. The festival also honours Goddess Durga’s victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura after a fierce nine-day battle. The tenth day, Vijayadashami, celebrates the triumph of divine feminine power over evil, symbolizing the victory of good over darkness. May you have a memorable celebration. Happy Dussehra!
