Celebrating 2025 year-end with festive vibes!

Orientation by Pratham Infotech on IBM course on “AI Fundamentals “

Mr Prakash Lokhande gave us introduction to AI and its importance in our profession.

All LIS students, LIS teachers and library professionals staff of SNDTWU enrolled for it.

We finished one course out of total 6 courses during today’s session.

Now our target is to finish all 6 courses by 31st December and earn a final certification from IBM

Towards fulfilling the mission of Late Prof Harsha Parekh….. students of SHPT School of Library Science are participating in the project of BCPT.

The Harsha Parekh Memorial Children’s Library Enrichment Programme aims to strengthen early reading, library engagement, and literacy practices in schools. This pilot project addresses existing gaps by linking library science expertise with school education needs, while honouring the legacy of Harsha Parekh, former Head of Library Science and former Chairperson of BCPT.

एस.एन.डी.टी. महिला विद्यापीठात वाचन प्रेरणा दिनानिमित्त मराठी भाषा व साहित्य विषयावर एकदिवसीय चर्चासत्र

भारतरत्न महर्षी कर्वे ज्ञानस्रोत केंद्र आणि पदवीत्तर मराठी विभाग, एस.एन.डी.टी. महिला विद्यापीठ, चर्चगेट यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने माजी राष्ट्रपती डॉ. ए.पी.जे. अब्दुल कलाम यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त “वाचन प्रेरणा दिन” उत्साहात साजरा करण्यात आला.

या निमित्ताने “मराठी भाषा व साहित्य” या विषयावर एकदिवसीय चर्चासत्राचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते.
कार्यक्रमाचे उद्दिष्ट विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये वाचनाची आवड निर्माण करणे, मराठी साहित्याचा गोडवा वाढवणे आणि नव्या युगातील वाचन संस्कृतीचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित करणे हे होते.

कार्यक्रमाचे प्रास्ताविक श्री. सुभाष चव्हाण (संचालक महर्षी कर्वे ज्ञानस्रोत केंद्र) यांनी केले.

या प्रसंगी मराठी विभागातील प्राध्यापक डॉ . रामटेके यांनी व्याख्यान दिले,संशोधक, विद्यार्थी आणि ग्रंथालय कर्मचारी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते.

ग्रंथालय शास्त्र विभागाच्या कु. अदिती जाधव आणि डॉ. सारिका सावंत यांनी काव्यवाचन केले

कार्यक्रम यशस्वीरीत्या पार पडला आणि सर्वांनी वाचनाची नवीन प्रेरणा घेऊन दिवस साजरा केला.

Congratulations Dr. Trupti Tulsankar for successfully defending PhD viva voce on 10th October 2025 💐👏👏🌹

She pursued her research on “ Digital Collection Management of Health Science Colleges of Maharashtra: a Study under the guidance of Dr. Vrushali Rane

The viva was examined by Dr. Dharmaraj Veer sir.

Dr. Mary Ingua, in her session on “Integrating Transformative Knowledge & Skills in Real life Librarians-Libraries Situation : the University of Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) Experience “ enlightened participants about how “InfoSkilled” , “InfoPower” and SMART strategy Frameworks of the Library resulted in overall success of library and the university study and research

Expert session on Applying ICT Applications for Smarter Library Management, Effective Teaching and Active Learning by Ms. Shaheen Ansari on 4th October 2025

Interesting workshop on Gamification in Libraries conducted by Dr. Raju Talreja on 30th September 2025

The workshop had hands-on various applications with which interesting games can be created in libraries. These games can be used as information literacy for users.

Congratulations Dr. Prachi Arote for successfully defending PhD viva voce on 29 th September 2025 💐🍫💐

Her topic of research was “ Research Productivity of College Librarians in Colleges affiliated to SNDT Women’s University.
