"A man who lived with kindness, generosity, and peace—until even the heavens waited for him." 🌟✨
(Dhammapada 16)
Pāli Verse :
"Idha modati pecca modati
Katapuñño ubhayattha modati
So modati so pamodati
Disvā kammavisuddhim attano."
English Translation:
"Here he rejoices, hereafter he rejoices;
In both worlds the doer of good rejoices.
He rejoices, exceedingly rejoices,
Seeing the purity of his own deeds."
Brief Description :
This verse beautifully expresses the lasting joy that arises from living a life of virtue. According to the Buddha, those who act with kindness, honesty, and wisdom experience peace not only in this life but also beyond. When they reflect on their actions, they feel a deep inner satisfaction—not because of wealth or status, but because of the purity of their conduct. Even in the face of death, they remain fearless, knowing they have caused no harm and have walked the path of goodness. True happiness, as this verse teaches, isn’t found in the outside world—it’s found in a clear conscience and a compassionate heart. Goodness brings peace now, and joy in the life to come.
