CENTER FOR AMERICAN EDUCATION
NARSEE MONJEE EDUCATIONAL TRUST TO OPEN FIRST AMERICAN EDUCATION CENTER IN INDIA
The City of Philadelphia, and the more than one hundred schools of higher education in its region, will be represented in Mumbai on September 21, 2012 when the Narsee Monjee Educational Trust officially announces the opening of its American Education Center at the Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. The Center will operate under the aegis of its Narsee Monjee Center for Excellence at the Jamnaibai Narsee School.
Representing Philadelphia and Mayor Michael A. Nutter, will be the City’s Honorary Ambassador to India, Ms. Kanika Choudhary. Ms. Choudhary, a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, has returned repeatedly to India over the past thirty months to share her enthusiasm for Philadelphia and the opportunities awaiting other Indian students who also choose Philadelphia for their education.
Upon hearing of the new Center’s opening, Mayor Nutter responded by saying, “I send my sincere thanks and tremendous respect to the Narsee Family and its Narsee Monjee Educational Trust for their foresight and generosity in opening the Center. The Center will offer Indian students a unique service to match each student’s individual talents, interests and learning styles to the schools best suited for them. Student families are demonstrating great trust in sending their children to be educated at Philadelphia’s schools. That trust will be rewarded through the individualized attention that their children will receive to help them succeed in their studies and flourish in their careers.”
The intent of the Foundation is to ensure that parents and students will receive unbiased and objective education counseling and school placement absent any potential favoritism.
“The Narsee Monjee Educational Trust has created a wonderful opportunity for India’s students and the universities in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania that will host them,” said City Representative Johnson. “We look forward to welcoming those students to Philadelphia and to having visionary programs such as the American Education Center thrive and increase.”
Also attending the opening and representing Pennsylvania’s Governor Corbett is David Briel, Executive Director of the Center for Direct Investment within the Office of International Business Development. Invited to attend is Commercial Officer Richard Rothman, who will represent the U.S. Government and its Commercial Division.
More information including contact details to take appointment with our Academic Guidance Counselor will be updated soon after the launch of the Center on 21st September, 2012.
