Went to see my college friend Rajesh Pullarwar’s exhibition “Apne Hisse Me Suraj” this Friday and wow, it really hit different
His work asks the heavy question: “Does the sun shine differently upon each one of us?” Through darkened charcoal silhouettes scattered across bright clouds, he explores how our society assigns value to individual citizens.
What makes it even more powerful is knowing these pieces came from his real experiences during COVID - helping migrant workers, witnessing how our systems failed the most vulnerable. He transformed personal pain into art that actually makes you think about identity, democracy, and who gets to matter.
“Identity is not by mere chance but a decision- collective and personal.”
Proud of this guy for creating work that doesn’t just look good but challenges how we see each other. Sometimes the best art comes from the hardest questions.

Rock Dhokra | Inspired by Nature.
During my time at Devrai Art Village, I was captivated by the wildflowers growing through the rocks—resilient, organic, and full of life. This piece, blending Dhokra metal casting on rock, reflects that untamed beauty and nature’s enduring spirit.

The Painted Stork – With its vibrant pink and orange palette and striking black-and-white feathers, this bird turns the wetlands into a living masterpiece. Watching them wade gracefully through Bhigwan’s shimmering waters was pure magic.
A heartfelt thanks to the team of team in Kumbhargoan for crafting this incredible birding journey. Their expertise brought us closer to the beauty of these winged wonders.
📍 Bhigwan Bird Sanctuary – where nature paints its finest stories.
This version weaves in the bird’s artistic appeal and your memorable experience. Let me know if you’d like further tweaks! #

Title: Fragile yet resilient.
This clay mermaid with a dislocated, detachable tail symbolizes the mental health struggles many face in today’s world. The broken sections represent fragility, yet the potential to reattach speaks to the power of healing and resilience. Just like the tail, we can come apart, but we can also find the strength to come back together, piece by piece.
Medium: Stoneware clay.
