Great acting is often mistaken for emotion alone. In reality, it is deeply rooted in truth.

Today’s audiences are remarkably sensitive to authenticity. We instinctively recognise behaviour that is genuine and behaviour that is merely performed. That’s why we connect most deeply with performances that feel lived rather than demonstrated.

An actor’s primary responsibility is not to imitate emotion, but to uncover the psychological truth of a moment.

An actor achieves this by experiencing the world through a unique combination of memories, imagination and emotional associations. The craft lies in transforming that inner reality into a truthful performance. It’s only and only that truth that allows an audience to forget they’re watching an actor and instead believe they’re witnessing a human being.

Technique can make a performance convincing. Truth makes it unforgettable.

Thank you, Anupam Kher sir, for such an insightful and generous masterclass. Beyond the techniques and exercises, what stayed with us was your constant reminder that the pursuit of truth is at the heart of our craft. A lesson every actor needs to keep coming back to.

BEST WEEKEND EVER!

The actors of our Young Actors Training Programme and Foundation Acting Programme at our recently inaugurated Delhi centre had the most inspiring session with our Chief Mentor and acting guru, Anupam Kher Sir, last weekend.

The interaction went far beyond the craft of acting. From the power of imagination and finding emotional truth to discipline, resilience, and building a meaningful career, every insight came from a lifetime devoted to the craft.

Learning from someone who has spent over four decades inspiring audiences across the world is a reminder that talent may open the door, but dedication, humility, and relentless hard work are what keep it open.

Actors need to dream bigger, work harder, and become not just better actors, but better human beings. The journey has only just begun!
