Aaliya’s sticker chart was a perfect strategy only until she reflected that her young friends were performing for fancy stickers against their names.

When Aaliya’s coach asked some reflective questions, everything changed

They decided to move from stickers to skills.

Wishing you and your families a gentle, joy filled start to the New Year

Stepping into a new year with something better than perfection: intention and compassion.

To the Educators: Thank you for creating safe, inclusive spaces where little ones feel seen, heard and capable. Your calm, creativity and commitment change lives every single day.

To the Parents: You are your child’s first teacher. The way you love, listen and keep showing up - especially on messy days shapes the foundation that matters more than the perfect parenting.

In 2026, may we all:

✨ Choose connection over control
✨ Celebrate small wins over big expectations
✨ Offer the same kindness to ourselves that we give to children

Here’s to a year of shared goals, stronger partnerships, and confident children who know they truly belong.
Happy New Year to the village raising and teaching our youngest learners 🥂 ✨

The holiday season in early years is more than decorations and parties—it’s a powerful chance to build belonging in our classrooms. 💙

In our latest blog, we follow Aaliya, an early childhood educator who redesigned her holiday celebration so every child felt safe, seen, and valued.
She used three powerful shifts:
✨ Sensory-smart celebration zones (including a calm space that isn’t a “time-out”)
🌍 Honoring every family’s traditions, not just one holiday
🤝 Valuing multiple ways to participate—singing, helping, observing, sensory play, one‑on‑one connection

The result? Children who used to hide during celebrations started choosing to join in, and children from diverse cultural backgrounds finally saw their traditions proudly reflected in the classroom.

Want to see how she did it—and borrow the ideas for your own program?
