Digital Contact Tracing and Medical Privacy 19/04/2020

Video overview of SafePaths and https://covidsafepaths.org/
How does this relate to Google/Apple Bluetooth APIs?
We absolutely need GPS+Bluetooth

Location Location Location is the most important part of contact tracing. If there's is no location context, citizens will stop believing in the seemingly 'random' alerts just as they ignore the Amber alerts. If a user encounters someone in a grocery store where the user was wearing a mask and being careful, an alert will be meaningless. On the other hand, a valid alert about an encounter where the user was not careful could be missed due to the alert fatigue.

The lack of context can lead to civil unrest. If users cannot figure out where they encountered an infected person, they will start blaming people that they like to blame, usually minorities. For many countries, it will be a very risky venture to let masses reach their own biased and racially charged conclusions about the source of exposure if they use only Bluetooth. The right solution would be a blend multiple technologies like GPS and Bluetooth.

Trace and Isolate, the key strategy in quickly halting an
epidemic, requires rapid identification and quarantine of the infected individuals, determination of whom they have had close contact within the previous days and weeks, and decontamination of locations the infected individual has visited. With almost half of the world’s population carrying a device capable of GPS and Bluetooth tracking, location trails – timestamped logs of an individual’s location – can be created. By
comparing a user’s trails with those from
diagnosed carriers of infectious disease, one can
identify users who have been in close proximity to
the diagnosed carrier and, if the exposed users take appropriate action, reduce the spread of the infectious disease. However, first-generation contact-tracing tools, deployed against the current 2019 novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, can also be – and have been – used to expand mass surveillance, limit
individual freedoms and expose the most private details about individuals. Citizen-centric, privacy-first solutions that are open-source, secure, and decentralized (such as MIT Private Kit: Safe Paths) represent the next generation of tools for disease containment in an epidemic or pandemic.

The main objective to launch REDX club at our college is to grow social innovation capacity and develop problem solving approach by the research oriented module of REDX
SPOT

As they rightly say" Learning and innovation go hand in hand",
REDX gives us an opportunity to grow as an innovator as well as a team. Moving on,we also launched a REDx Gescoe club website. Further all the participants got segregated into various groups as per their domain interests. With Rushabh Rambhia sir's guidance, all the teams started to map the challenges in each domain.

Looking forward to make a contribution in making a difference in society and working for the betterment,we thank REDX and our college for their support

Someone has said : "You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing models obsolete."

I am Miss Bora, a student of NDMVP College Of Engineering. On 20th July 2019, we inaugurated the REDX club at our college. The chief guest for the inauguration was Mr. Ketan Lohar VP, Product Engineering at Winjit Technologies. Sharing his valuable knowledge, he made us understand that DATA is the key for advancement of technology, Artificial Intelligence in specific. Jio was a perfect example that he gave which relied on data completely. A year's free service by Jio provider was to understand the usage of data by the subscribers which further resulted in fair estimation for their company.

Moving on, all the members got segregated into groups according to their individual interests. Be it Health care, Accessibility by the Differently Abled, Smart City and Infrastructure and so on. Showing the keen interest everyone discussed the problems regarding the agenda. Nonetheless, the teams defined the domains, mapped various topics. And brainstormed on the various challenges. Essentially, arised with the top 3 challenges in each domain.

Looking forward to help the society in numerous ways using AI, we would like to thank REDX for providing us a platform for the students to work for the betterment of the society. Also the college for their support .

REDX Spot: A Process for Building Innovative Horizontals That Empower Bold Solutions 19/05/2019

REVERSING FAILURES in startups, and broadly innovation (TOOLS added):

Forty-two percent of innovation failures are due to ill-defined problems and those that do not meet market needs (CB Information Services, 2018). Our approach intends to bridge this gap. The process of starting a new venture, more so a startup, is often considered chaotic and riddled with unexpected challenges and outcomes.

Check out how to MITIGATE RISKS of failure during innovation by implementing a systematic and structured approach to opportunity recognition alongside mapping innovative solutions.
[ NEW! We just added tools to implement Spot Process. Check out the links added to the blog.]
