Rooted in the Bhakti movement and storytelling, Kathak serves as a meditative practice that connects the inner self with a higher power. The opening and closing Bhoomi Pranam (bow to the earth) fosters humility.

Many of our students have asked this question when we talk about spirituality and Kathak.

"Why Indian Classical Dance is Called Sacred?
And the answer is ; The Connection to Natyashastra,Vedas and Upanishads."

Very Important examples I have found while researching ;

- Kathak's connection to the Natya Shastra and its depiction of stories from Hindu mythology.

- Kathak's intricate footwork, which echoes the rhythmic patterns found in Vedic chanting.
How ?
The 'bols' in Kathak like 'ta', 'thei', 'tung' mirror the syllabic patterns in Vedic recitation. It's like the dance is singing ancient verses through feet!🥰

[The Sacred Origins]

-*Natyashastra's Divine Roots*: The Natyashastra, the foundational text of Indian classical dance, is believed to have been revealed by Brahma, highlighting dance's divine origin.
- *Vedic Rituals and Dance*: The Vedas describe dance and music as essential ritual components, linking the art form to spiritual practices.

[Philosophical Connections]

- *Upanishadic Themes*: Classical dances depict Upanishadic themes, like Shiva's cosmic dance (Nataraja), symbolizing creation and destruction.
- *Symbolism and Metaphor*: Dance movements and mudras convey spiritual concepts, connecting atman and Brahman.

[The Sacred Experience]

- *Devotional Expression*: Classical dance is a form of devotion, expressing spiritual emotions and connecting with the divine.
- *Spiritual Discipline*: The rigorous training required is seen as a path to spiritual growth and self-realization.

"This rich heritage makes Indian classical dance a powerful medium for spiritual expression and connection."

"Hoilstic Purification Process"-I've been living a pretty clean life since my younger days-No smoking,No booze,Veggie food,Regular sleep,Positive vibes,Practice yoga,Walking ,Prayers and Fasting. It's had a huge impact on my health both physically and spiritually.Science and spirituality are like totally aligned here.People often ask how I've stuck to this lifestyle, especially being away from parents and having a busy schedule.
My answer's simple: 'Spiritually discipline'.
We're born from nature so let's live in harmony with it and eventually merge back into it.
Anyone can do it and it'll totally connect you with nature and something bigger.

Today is a milestone I’ll always cherish—I received my postgraduate degree from our college’s chairperson, Sandhya Purecha Tai. This certificate isn’t just a piece of paper; it represents the countless late‑night study sessions, the challenging projects, and the relentless effort I poured into the past few years.

Every obstacle only made me stronger, and every page I turned brought me closer to this moment. When Tai handed me the degree, my heart swelled with pride. I owe this success to the guidance of my professors, the unwavering support of my family, and my own determination.

Thank you to everyone who stood by me. Here’s to the next chapter!

Har Har Mahadev🙏

There’s something magical in the holy cave of Mata Vaishno Devi. There’s this magic, the zeal, the energy that comes from within and gives you the power to walk to the Bhawan. It’s basically your faith and devotion that keeps you going forward.
Had The darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi in the holy cave is in the form of three naturally formed rocks which are known as pindies. These pindies manifest the three forms of the goddess as Maha Saraswati,Maha Lakshmi and Maha Kali.
Jai Mata di
