It is considered to be the 21st Century's most popular modern classic cocktail.
Created by a bartender Sam Ross at Milk and Honey Bar in New York.
It's a riff on another famous cocktail Gold Rush from the same bar, which is made by mixing bourbon whiskey, lemon juice and honey. Sam Ross gave an interesting twist to the drink by substituting bourbon with scotch whisky, he added ginger- honey syrup and the cherry on the top for this cocktail is the float of smokey whisky.
The simplicity of the cocktail made it world famous and also a favourite drink of many bartenders across globe.
The name of the cocktail is inspired by the medicinal properties of the ingredients used in making this beautiful drink.
Cheers to
for this amazing cocktail.

Flip style of cocktails call for a balance between the spirit or fortified wine, the sweetness of the sugar, and the fat and frothiness of the egg.
In this cocktail selection of a spirit plays a vital role, aged spirits are preferred over unaged spirits. Aged spirits offer full and rounded flavour notes which is the exact requirement to make a well-balanced Flip. Spirits like vodka, white rum etc. make it a very boozy drink and destroys the flavour balance of the cocktail.
The richness and frothy texture are derived from eggs and cream. Demerara sugar adds depth to the cocktail.
A Flip cocktail is usually seasoned with aromatic spices like nutmeg or cinnamon.

The long awaited classic cocktail training was finally done!!!
Steffi and ._.242 joined online bartending classes during pandemic. We completed all theory and some demo sessions virtually during this period.
But fun of making cocktails together was missing.
So we planned a cocktail session at home and worked on few essential lessons of Bartending.
What did they learn?
โ
Preparing indent and purchasing the ingredients. They worked on the costing of each cocktails.
โ
Setting and un-setting the bar for each drink.
โ
Handling bar equipment efficiently
โ
Garnish and presentation
โ
Balancing the flavour
The foundation is been laid strongly and now these two students are getting ready to learn more advanced techniques practically. Please note they are already working on preparing some in-house syrups, infusions and shrubs.
To add more fun and entertainment to the session my daughter attempted making Shirley Temple.โบ๏ธ
Moral of the story- Don't stop, keep working.

Spotted a new fruit in the market.
Have you tried it yet?
This fruit is called Persimmons. After little research we found that it is usually found in subtropical and temperate regions. In India it is grown in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Jammu Kashmir. It known by different names in different regions.
It looks like mini pumpkin or tomatoes. When it is fully ripened it tastes excellent. Unripen persimmons have astringent and puckering taste.
Countries like China, Japan, Brazil, USA, Egypt are major producers of persimmons. Persimmons fruits are good source of vitamins, minerals, etc.
If you have tried this fruit let us know in the comments.
If we get successful we will surely share some interesting beverage recipe soon.
