26/04/2020

With the all India lockdown in place, students everywhere are facing one big problem.. boredom... no going to school, no malls, no outdoor sports ....

We decided to give the kids something that would interest them and create a bit of excitement.

We announced 2 competitions for school children.
1. Poster Making
2. Essay Writing
The theme was "Corona Pandemic"

Students were asked to submit their entries on Whatsapp. Entries started to pour in. Within no time we received over 200 entries and had quite a tough time sifting through these. Entries came in from all corners of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane as well as places like Baramati, Jalgaon, Goa, Pune, etc.

With lot of time at hand, students devoted their creative energies and came out with amazing results. The innovative ideas that only kids can think of can really surprise you. A big "THANK YOU" to all the parents, teachers and all our little friends.

We had a great time, reading all the essays and seeing the drawings. Assessing essays and drawings on Whatsapp was a new experience for us too. Finally here are the results ...

Hope to see you again in September when we have our "Annual Scholastic Interschool Fest" and later in December when we have our Maths, Science and English competitive exams.

Congratulations to all the rankers..

"Scholastic Mathematics Olympiad 2019-20"

Most schools have already conducted the Mathematics examination.

Certain observations:

1. Some students, especially Class 2 and Class 3 students haven't marked the answers clearly. In the OMR sheet (answer sheet) to answer a particular question, please fill the entire circle with pencil or blue/black pen. Do not simply tick mark the option. Don't mark more than one answer to any question.

2. Some students have done rough work on the back side of the answer sheet. Don't do any rough work on the answer sheet. You may do any rough work on the question paper.

3. We observed that some students wasted a lot of time on the starting few questions and were left with very little time at the end. We suggest that if you find a particular question difficult, you may skip that question and solve the rest of the paper. Do not waste time on one question. Later if time permits you may solve that question or simply use guesswork (there is no negative marking in Level 1 Exams)

4. In spite of out best efforts, a few errors were found in few question papers. All participating students will be given full marks in those questions.

The results of these Level 1 Examinations would be declared by end December.

Best of luck to all participants for the English and Science Examinations.
