*Dr Arjun Appadurai is a social-cultural anthropologist and a world renowned expert on the cultural dynamics of globalization. He is presently Emeritus Professor in Media, Culture and Communication at New York University. He also holds honorary appointments at Humboldt University (Berlin) and Erasmus University (Rotterdam). The Lecture has been organised as part of the Special Lecture series of the Ancient Sculptures: India Egypt Assyria Greece Rome exhibition at CSMVS, Mumbai*
