One of Mewati Gharanas family major contribution is to the indian film industry & the to that the foremost name would be
“MOHD SHAFI”
the man who was among the very first or nearly the first of Sitar Player who introduced Sitar / Surbahar in to Indian Film Industry
He was the pioneer of setting up group Sitar in 50s/ 60s in songs , later became the icon for music arrangement / Music Composer & Editor
He was also one of the first to research on Stock music which today we also tag as “ Sample Music” in various sound banks
The very first senior artist from our Family & our Mewati Tradition to contribute traditional music in to motion picture (songs & Bgm)
Mohd Shafi the first Grandson of Great Ust Wahid Khan(Beenkar) of Mewati Gharana , son of Ust Majid Khan( Beenkar) Brother - in - law of Ust Vilayat Khan (Sitar Legend) , Uncle ( Chacha) of Ust Rais Khan (Sitar Maestro) , Brother to Ust Mohd Khansahab ( raiskhan father) , Son inlaw of Ust Enayat Khan (vilayatkhan father) Mama of Ust Siraj Khan ( Brother of Kaniz Fatima sirajkhan mother)

found this souvenir Booklet of "Mewati Music Conference" which use to be one of the most imp & famous Music festivals in Ahmedabad from late 70s till 80s to early 90s - the key organising committee were Sanand Bapu Ust Ghulam Qadir khan Maniramji Puranchand ji & people from the Mewati Gharana - many greats performed in this festival
