Somaiya Vidyavihar University proudly hosts the Dr Shantilal K Somaiya Research Conference on “Driving Business in the Age of Technology and Sustainability.”

Led by the Dr Shantilal K Somaiya School of Commerce and Business Studies, it will be inaugurated on 22nd January 2026 by Prof Ajay Kapoor, Vice-Chancellor, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, & Prof Arun Kumar Nayak, Dean of Research and Director of the Somaiya Institute for Research and Consultancy (SIRAC).

This two-day programme brings together academicians, researchers, and industry professionals to explore how technology, sustainability, and ethical innovation are shaping business. With sessions on AI, data-driven decision making, sustainable models, and industry insights, it’s a platform where ideas turn into impact.

Reflecting Somaiya Vidyavihar University’s vision, the conference prepares students not just for careers, but for conscious, purpose-led decision-making in a rapidly changing world.

The Kaizen Club for the students of BCom Accounting and Finance organised a Session on discussions on Careers in Finance.  

This interactive session was led by Industry experts such as:  
CA Venkatagiri Vasudevan, Assistant Senior Vice President Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd, CA Brijesh Kukreja, Investment Banking, ex-Deloitte, ex-PWC and CA Muskkan Kukreja, Assistant Director and Program Coordinator, ex-PwC Tax Deals  

The experts shared their insights on various career opportunities in the finance field, including CA, ACCA, CFA, CS, MBA, compliance roles, treasury and banking profiles. The session provided students with valuable knowledge to make informed career decisions. It concluded with an engaging Q&A session where students clarified their doubts and received guidance from industry experts.

Ms Divya Gulabrani, Manager at RafterOne, shared valuable insights on excelling in the HR interview rounds. The session concluded with one-on-one mock interviews, where students received personalized feedback to refine their performance and enhance their interview readiness.

🌟 Congratulations to Sakshi Jatin Mehta, Drashti Nilesh Anawadia, and Vidhika Vijaysingh Chauhan! 🌟 A proud achievement for our SYBAF students as they, under the mentorship of Dr. Sachin Vilas Acharekar and Ms. Sayali Nene, won the Best Paper Award at the 9th International Students Research Conference hosted by B K Birla College, Kalyan! 🎉👏 Their research on "Viksit Bharat 2047" sheds light on India’s ambitious vision to become a developed nation by 2047, emphasizing key areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social inclusion. The study critically examines challenges like unequal education access, rural healthcare gaps, and underrepresentation of marginalized groups, while also highlighting significant progress made through policies like Ayushman Bharat. To truly realize Viksit Bharat 2047, the research underscores the need for stronger investments in secondary education, rural healthcare, skill development, and inclusive governance. With the right policies—digital education, vocational training, and improved representation—India can pave the way for transformative growth. The IDT Triathlon was conducted for second year students of BCom Accounting and Finance, . The event was a part of the teaching pedagogy for the course on Taxation II by CA Muskkan Kukreja . This engaging event combined learning, teamwork, and problem-solving.

With 25 enthusiastic teams for 4 members each, the event was a vibrant mix of learning, critical thinking, and fun.
