Starting research can feel overwhelming—not because you're incapable, but because no one clearly explains the process.

At The Research Caduceus, we've designed the Founder's Batch to remove that uncertainty.

Instead of asking you to figure everything out on your own, we'll guide you through a structured journey—from understanding the clinical problem and developing a research question to conducting a systematic review and preparing a publication-ready manuscript.

You'll actively participate in every stage of the project, learning not only what to do, but why each step matters.

Our goal is simple:

To help you become confident enough to independently undertake future research projects with the right methodology and ethical approach.

If you've been waiting for the right environment to begin your research journey, we'd love to mentor you.

A publication is valuable.

But the skills you gain while creating that publication are even more valuable.

That's the philosophy behind The Research Caduceus Founder's Batch.

Our goal isn't simply to help you complete a systematic review.

It's to help you understand the complete research process—from identifying an important clinical question to preparing a publication-ready manuscript.

Through our inaugural project on "Osteomyelitis in Indian Children," you'll gain practical exposure to research methodology while learning concepts across multiple specialties.

By the end of the mentorship, you'll leave with more than a manuscript.

You'll leave with a framework you can confidently apply to future research projects throughout your career.

If you're ready to learn research through structured guidance, discipline, and ethical practices, we'd love to mentor you.

Why are we accepting only 5 students in the first-ever Founder's Batch?

Because research mentorship is personal.

Reviewing search strategies, discussing inclusion criteria, providing feedback on writing, and helping students understand research methodology cannot be done effectively in a large group.

At The Research Caduceus, we chose quality over quantity from day one.

Our goal isn't to enroll the highest number of students.

Our goal is to ensure that every participant receives meaningful guidance, understands the research process, and develops skills they can confidently use in future projects.

The Founder's Batch will work on a Systematic Review titled "Osteomyelitis in Indian Children," gaining exposure to multiple specialties while learning every stage of evidence synthesis and scientific writing.

If you're looking for structured, ethical, and personalised mentorship, we'd love to have you join us.

Research mentorship should never be about shortcuts.
It should be about learning a process that you can confidently apply throughout your academic career.
At The Research Caduceus, we've designed our mentorship around structure, discipline, and ethical research practices.
That means:
• A clearly defined workflow.
• Personalised guidance in a small batch.
• Honest feedback—not unrealistic promises.
• Ethical use of AI as a learning tool.
• A focus on understanding every step, not just completing a manuscript.
Our objective is simple:
To help students become confident researchers who know why they're doing each step—not just how.
If that aligns with the kind of mentorship you're looking for, we'd be delighted to work with you.

Not every research project is a good learning project.
For the very first Founder's Batch at The Research Caduceus, we wanted a topic that is clinically meaningful, methodologically robust, and educational across multiple specialties.
That's why we've chosen:
"Osteomyelitis in Indian Children"
This systematic review will expose participants to concepts spanning Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Microbiology, Radiology, Surgery, and Evidence-Based Medicine.
More importantly, participants won't just observe the process—they'll actively learn every stage of conducting a systematic review, from framing the research question to preparing a publication-ready manuscript.
Whether you're completely new to research or looking for structured mentorship, this batch is designed to help you build a strong foundation with discipline, ethical practices, and personalised guidance.
Applications for Founder's Batch 01 are now open.

Three weeks ago, we launched The Research Caduceus with a simple mission:
To make medical research practical, approachable, and achievable.
Since then, we've built a community of students and doctors who want to learn research the right way.
Now it's time for the next step.
🚀 Applications for the TRC Founder's Batch are officially open.
This is a structured mentorship program focused on helping beginners complete a Systematic Review while learning every stage of the research process—from framing a research question to preparing a manuscript for journal submission.
Because this is our first batch, we're keeping it intentionally small to ensure personalized mentorship.
If you've been following our journey and have been waiting for the right time to begin your research journey, this is it.

It's easy to admire someone's achievements.
It's much harder to appreciate the quiet months of learning, revising, and improving that happened before anyone noticed.
One of the proud moments in my research journey was seeing my work receive national media recognition.
But the biggest lesson wasn't about recognition.
It was about consistency.
Research rewards people who continue showing up, even when nobody is watching.
If you're just starting your research journey, don't worry about building an impressive CV overnight.
Focus on building the skills.
The publications, opportunities, and recognition can follow.

Many students think PRISMA is something to worry about after completing a Systematic Review.
In reality, understanding PRISMA from the beginning makes the entire research process more structured and transparent.
It doesn't tell you what to research.
It helps you explain how you conducted your review.
That's exactly what journals expect.
If you're planning your first Systematic Review, save this post—you'll come back to it often.

A Narrative Review?
A Systematic Review?
Or something else entirely?
The answer depends on your interests, your experience, and what's realistically achievable.
