DIY has always been my thing.
From being someone who created and decorated cakes with tons of love and care, this passion towards going the diy way to arrange games and toys for my kids came naturally to me.

So here’s another I created for my son .. this is the way we play it -

✏️arrange for a dice and as many different coloured pawns as there are players
✏️ hand over a sheet of paper to all the players
✏️youngest player starts first and rolls the dice to land on a numbered block ( each block as 2 options to choose from.. they have to solve either of the questions and note the answer in their sheet)
✏️if another player lands on the same block they have to take up the other question, without an option
✏️the one who reaches the finish line first and gets all the spellings right in his or her sheet… WINS !! 🏆

🔅what’s interesting is that answers to all the questions are known to my son, however this game is purely to test his understanding of phonics and some cvc word formations

Schools on for Mr.V and now mumma has sometime to setup fun play time for Ms.N 🥰
She loves her paints but knows when she’s done done.. unlike her brother who could sit in this paint plop all day long at 15months 😂

Anyone felt this ? .. after one or perhaps two kids .. you felt so lost and so disoriented, barely able to get through the day after successfully accomplishing the day as a ‘selfless’ mom.. that you forgot for a while that you were also a wifey ?

With this I welcomed endless afternoons of pretend, independent and dramatic/imaginative play ⚠️🚗

I’ve always focused on diy games throughout my son’s childhood (now 4.3 years old) and what’s beautiful to watch is that the games we purchase or receive as gifts get done and dusted with so quick and here we have this simple board (that took about an hour to make) that opens up multiple ways of play and can be customised as per your child’s likes and dislikes to them even more excited 🚸

Spinach & Pumpkin Chickpea Fusilli with Herbed Mushrooms and Kiwi

Boil, strain and keep chickpea fusilli as you would with any pasta.
Pressure cook spinach leaves, pumpkin cubes, 5-6 basil leaves, a small clove of garlic and half an onion.
Puree well once one.
Take ghee in a pan, add carom seeds/ajwain, add the puree along with some black pepper powder (pinch). Adjust the consistency and add the boiled pasta, mix well and serve, topped with spring onion greens :)

Baby Fried Rice with Pineapple Slices

Cook rice in an open saucepan. Once done, strain and allow to cool.
Meanwhile, fine chop carrot, french beans, spring onion greens, onion, garlic and ginger.
Boil together the carrot and french beans till almost done (you may skip this if your baby has teeth and can chew small pieces of the same).
Take a pan, add ghee, throw in the onions, garlic and ginger. Saute well but do not let it brown. Add the carrot and french beans, season with white pepper powder and mix in the rice. Lightly mix it all together after turning off the flame.Take this off in a plate and add mashed, soft avocado to get it all together to make the rice balls. Serve hot :)

Quinoa Potato Croquettes with Tomato Chutney & Yogurt

Boil together potato and broccoli in a pressure cooker. Strain and use the water to cook soaked quinoa (add more water if u need)
Mash the veggies, add quinoa(without any water), add 2 spoons of roasted steel cut oats powder, if the bind is loose, add a spoon or two of cooked rice or soaked poha.
Throw in some chopped basil leaves, black pepper powder and mixed fresh herbs (i used oregano and thyme). Get everything together, bind them into desired shapes and line the croquettes on a tray, bake until done :)
NOTE- make sure to not over bake, the croquettes may get tough to chew for your baby.

Baby Hummus along side Steamed Veggies

Soak chickpeas overnight. Cook them in a pressure cooker and grind to a fine paste.
Add some yogurt, a small clove of garlic, cumin/jeera powder, olive oil and bring it all together to a fine paste :)

To all the moms who are preggers or planning to be soon, savour every minute of your pregnancy.. enjoy it ✨ ...not because you will have sleepless nights ahead, but, because every single minute of these 9months, your body is doing GREAT WORK and it needs every ounce of happiness, love and respect 💜

for the time you will be travelling ✈️🌎
We are leaving tonight for our first family vacation with Nitaara 😻 the best way to celebrate "9months in and 9months out" as she turns 9months old on the 18th 🐥

Travelling with 2 babies, one below one and the other almosttt 4years old... And I'm super nervous and damnn excited too .. we are doing this trip with no nanny, zero help 🤪

*tjpathak and I are going to be experiencing rawwww parenthood the next few days 😂 but we have just decided to laugh and enjoy through every minute of the next few days 💯💫💛
