Soften in. We're going slow today.
This is a 5-minute do-it-along restorative version of Supta Baddha Konasana, or Reclined Bound Angle pose. You'll lie on your back, let your knees fall open, and simply allow the body to release. No effort, no forcing. Just gravity doing its work.
A beautiful pose to return to again and again.
Benefits:
*Opens the hips, inner thighs, and groin gently
*Releases tension held in the pelvis and lower back
*Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping the body shift into rest mode
*Supports menstrual comfort and hormonal regulation
*Improves circulation to the pelvic region
*A wonderful wind-down after a long day or as part of a morning practice
Who this is for:
Anyone carrying tension in the hips or lower back, those dealing with stress or fatigue, beginners, and anyone who needs a few quiet minutes for themselves.
Contraindications:
*Hip or groin injury: avoid till completely recovered
*Knee discomfort: place support under both knees so they are not hanging unsupported
*Lower back conditions: elevate the hips slightly with a blanket if needed
*Pregnancy: this pose is generally considered safe and even beneficial during pregnancy, especially with props for support. Always check with your doctor or a prenatal yoga specialist first
NOTE: Always move within a comfortable range and never force the knees down
This is a part of the Slow Yoga with Juhie series. One pose at a time, one breath at a time.

A gentle, full-body joint warm-up in under 10 minutes. Sukshma Vyayama, or subtle body movements, is a foundational practice in Hatha yoga that lubricates the joints, releases stiffness, and prepares the body for deeper movement. We move through the neck, shoulders, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles, slowly and with care.
Benefits:
*Improves joint mobility and range of motion
*Reduces morning stiffness and tension
*Increases circulation and synovial fluid in the joints
*Calms the nervous system and brings awareness into the body
*Suitable as a warm-up before any yoga practice or as a standalone daily routine
Who this is for:
Beginners, seniors, anyone returning to movement, or anyone who spends long hours sitting or at a desk.
Contraindications or who should be careful/avoid:
*Recent joint surgery or injury: skip or modify movements around the affected area
*Acute inflammation or swelling in any joint: rest that joint and work around it
*Severe arthritis flare-ups: move only within a pain-free range, or rest
*Pregnancy: this practice is generally gentle and safe, but please consult your doctor or a prenatal yoga specialist before starting, especially in the first trimester
*Always consult your doctor if you are unsure whether this practice is right for you
This is part of the Slow Yoga with Juhie series, where we focus on one pose at a time.
Mumbai doesn't slow down. But you can.
This is the beginning of something I've been wanting to share for a while -- a series dedicated entirely to slow yoga. No rush, no performance, no keeping up. Just your breath, your body, and a little more space than you're used to.
In this first video, I'm walking you through what slow yoga actually is, why I teach it, and what you can expect from this series.
And the YouTube channel is coming very soon. I'm starting with short do-it-along videos -- one pose at a time, something you can fold into your regular practice, use as a cool down, or simply sit with as a meditation. And then we build -- into full slow yoga classes for when you want to really sink in.
Dropping in just a few days. Follow along, and I'll see you on the mat.

Somewhere along the way, we started treating failure like a verdict. Like it's the end of the sentence instead of a comma.
But on the mat, falling is just feedback. You lose your balance, you notice where you gripped too tight or leaned too far, and you try again. No shame in it. The fall is part of the practice, not a break from it.
Off the mat, it's the same. Failure isn't proof that you're not enough. It's information. It's the body and the mind showing you where to soften, where to strengthen, where to pay closer attention. And then, it's transformation.
Breaking free starts the moment you stop calling it failure and start calling it data. A wobble. A redirection. A rep.
You fall. You breathe. You rise. Stronger, steadier, and a little more honest with yourself than before.

Leaving San Francisco with a fuller cup than the one I arrived with.
This city held me in ways I didn't know I needed. Long walks under bottlebrush trees in full bloom. Cherry blossoms that stopped me mid-stride. Mornings on hilltops where the fog lifted just in time. Cortados shared across small wooden tables. Picnics in the park with my niece. Hours spent in libraries across the city, lost in stacks of books. Sweat and laughter at Barry's. Quiet evenings on the mat with strangers.
This was not a sabbatical. This was time away to learn and relearn. To unmake some old shapes and let new ones rise. I landed up doing a lot of expressive art therapy, and somewhere in the colours and the silence, I found pieces of myself I had been carrying without noticing.
I came here to pause. I am leaving with practice, with people, with poems I did not know I was writing.
Not everything fit in a frame. These are just some of the moments and people I got to hold.
San Francisco, you felt like home. Thank you for the spaciousness, the strangers, the soft landings.
Reflect. Release. Reset.
Back to Mumbai soon, with everything I gathered here folded gently into what comes next.
