The Department of Sociology has also established a tradition for organizing state and national level seminars extension lectures and guest lectures by the eminent personalities in the field of sociology. The department offers teaching programs form intermediate to Masters Level. Since 2006 the increasing strength of students in the department shows that sociology as a subject is gaining popularity among the students as well as among the people of this area. The passes out students of this department are studying in various universities all over the state. Following this tradition the students of the department has formed a society under the name “Guru Nanak Sociological Society” in 26 September 2013
