Karenni Education Support Network (KnESN) is a non-profit organization which was founded on August 16, 2014 in Shillong, Meghalaya, India by seven Karenni students in India along with other Karenni youths who live in countries including Canada, New Zealand, Finland, Australia, the United States of America and Thailand. The organization was established based on the vision that Karenni people in Kar
enni State need more educated individuals who are able to lead their people and improve various aspects of state-related developments in order for Karenni people to move toward a better tomorrow. Karenni State is currently in needed of major reforms and educated leaders and skilled workers are required in Karenni to remove itself out of general underdeveloped sectors. Similar to most people in the world, KnESN dearly holds the vision that education will bring light to the darkness and accept it as a fact that education will yield positive results for tomorrow if the seed of it is carefully planted today. This non-profit organization believes that education is the most fundamental tool that will reduce social conflicts, widespread corruptions, outdated technologies and many other obstacles that have the tendencies to slow down the processes of general improvements in Karenni State. By devoting itself in opening up educational pathways for enthusiastic students who live in Karenni State and who are ready to sacrifice for Karenni once they have graduated, KnESN firmly assumes that these students are able to effectively alter the courses of social, economic or educational conditions which are at stake. Although it is still in the phase of infancy, KnESN works hard in developing a network that will connect all Karenni people around the world. Without the supports given by respected Karenni brothers and sisters around the world, KnESN can not exist as the whole existence of the organization fundamentally depends on these (you) people. This mission is believed to be implementable because the founders and a numbers of confirmed contributors of KnESN partly believe that almost everyone who are Karenni, regardless of wherever they are or whatever they do, certainly, want to contribute something for a better future of Karenni motherland and its impoverished people.
