Earth Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at S.S.K. Hr. Sec. School, Marh

Marh, April 22: S.S.K. Hr. Sec. School, Marh celebrated Earth Day with great zeal and active participation from students and teachers.

Students showcased their creativity by preparing beautiful posters carrying messages such as “Save Earth,” “Stop Pollution,” “Save Water,” and “Say No to Plastics.” A special display board with the theme “Save Earth, Save Future” was also presented, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation.

Young students enthusiastically took part by holding placards and spreading awareness about protecting nature. Some students dressed in green-themed attire and wore creative headgear symbolizing love for the Earth.

Teachers guided the students and emphasized the importance of planting trees, reducing waste, and keeping the surroundings clean. The Managing Director, Sh. Lal Chand Gandotra, highlighted the importance of this day and encouraged everyone to organize such programs regularly. The Principal, Mr. Karuneshwar Gandotra, appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to continue working towards a cleaner and greener environment.

The event created awareness among students about their responsibility towards protecting the environment.

Dogri Sahitya Sabha Marh, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, organized a cultural programme at S.S.K. Hr. Sec. School Marh, celebrating the rich heritage of Dogri language and culture.

In the first session, the programme was graced by Sh. Surinder Kumar ji (MLA Marh) as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the need to preserve and promote the Dogri language and assured his full support for organizing such programmes on a larger and grander scale in the future.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local artists of the Marh area, who presented traditional Dogri performances such as barein, karkey, and folk songs, which were widely appreciated by the audience.

In the second session, distinguished literary personalities Dr. Om Goswami and Padma Shri Dr. Mohan Singh graced the occasion and presided over a Kavi Goshti (poets’ meet) held at 2:00 PM. Around 17 poets participated and recited their compositions, earning appreciation for their literary expression.

The programme was held in the premises of Shakti Shiksha Kendra Hr. Sec. School Marh. On this occasion, Chairman Sh. Lal Chand Gandotra and Principal Mr. Karuneshwar also addressed the gathering and presented their poems.

The event witnessed participation from nearly 100 artists, including several senior and accomplished performers. Students of the school also attended and enjoyed the programme.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Puran Chander Sharma, who expressed gratitude to all the guests, artists, and participants.
