Team Mangalore Flyers We are in south west of India, the Costal City of Karnataka State. In 2010, a group of 5 people decided they would like to try to fly model airplanes.

Joining Mangalore RC Hobby Club is not a prerequisite for enjoying the hobby of radio controlled vehicles but it is a great way to meet other RC enthusiast These flights; while often successful managed with few crashes...lol, were the basis of the club. The club was named the Dakshin RC Club. The flying field in Karkala (DK Dist, Karnataka State in India), we sometime visit is approximately 46 KM

from Mangalore. As years went by, the membership grew to 5 to 15 people. Along with increased membership; changes occurred to the flying site location. Various locations were utilized, some of which were next to the costal lets of the city. the present day Flying field at HELI PAD, enroute to the present International Airport. The club's name is now preferred as Mangalore RC Hobby Club as we find the name close to our current city we fly " MANGALORE" . Mangalore RC Hobby Club will continued to grow over the years as we are yet to reach the RC enthusiasts in the city. On a busy summer day you can see just about every type of RC model aircraft being flown; Jets, gliders, helicopters and as well as pattern and sport aircraft of all types. we are yet to find for the people to train and fly helicopters. This site is approximately 4 kilometres from Mangalore and 10 acres in size. The field, which is called The Heli Pad". As of 2014 we have added Car and Truck Modeling to our club, facilities for everything from learning to operate a remote controlled vehicle, just having fun or competition racing are being developed. We are in the process of getting affiliated to Aero Modelling Association (India) (AMA)
Aero Modelers Association or AMA is the first national body for Aeromodeling in India, an associate member of Aero Club of India (ACI). AMA promotes Safe, Secure and Responsible Aeromodeling in the country and aims at providing credibility to Aeromodeling as an aero-sport in India. AMA ensures all model flyers in India are recognised, responsible citizens and are covered by a valid third party insurance as a social responsibility. AMA coordinates with relevant ministries in the Government, national and international institutions, to further the cause of Aeromodeling as a national aero-sport. AMA holds National events once a year at a prominent flying club. http://www.amai.in
