Video Making Competition on “Rashtra Pratham”

A video-making competition on the theme “Rashtra Pratham” (Nation First) was organized to inspire students to express their patriotism and creativity through multimedia storytelling. Four teams participated, presenting videos that reflected innovative ideas and a deep understanding of the theme.
The entries were evaluated by Dr. Meena J. Panikker, Principal of Sharada College, who appreciated the creativity and teamwork of all participants. The team led by Karthik was declared the winner for their engaging and impactful presentation.
The event encouraged students to collaborate, think critically, and communicate ideas effectively while fostering a sense of national pride and creativity.

How to Plan for Start-up and Legal & Ethical Steps

The IIC of Sharada Degree College organized an interactive session on “How to Plan for Start
up and Legal & Ethical Steps.” Dr. Praksha C. Naik shared valuable insights on the start-up
ecosystem, early-stage planning, and the legal framework for establishing new ventures.
She also explained the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), business
registration procedures, and the ethical aspects of entrepreneurship such as data privacy,
consumer trust, and responsible branding.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A where students clarified doubts on start-up
funding, legal compliance, and ethical decision-making.

Exposure Visit to AIC NITTE Incubation Centre

Students of Sharada Degree College visited the AIC NITTE Incubation Centre to gain practical insights into the start-up and innovation ecosystem. The session began with mentorship guidance on the incubation process, covering business model drafting, market feasibility, pitching ideas, and available government funding schemes.
Students were then taken on a facility tour, exploring ideation labs, co-working spaces, and modern prototyping setups such as 3D printers and fabrication tools. They also interacted with young entrepreneurs currently incubated at AIC, who shared their real-world experiences, challenges, and success stories.
The visit provided students with a comprehensive understanding of start-up dynamics, innovation culture, and institutional support available for emerging entrepreneurs.

Introduction on IPR with Special Focus on Copyrights.

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Sharada Degree College organized an awareness
session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with a special focus on Copyrights. The session
aimed to educate students on the importance of protecting original works, avoiding plagiarism,
and understanding the legal aspects of content ownership.
Prof. Chandrashekar R. explained the basics of IPR, types of copyrights, real-life infringement
cases, and procedures for copyright registration. The session was interactive, and students
clarified doubts regarding protection of academic and creative work.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Sampreetha and Ms. Suraksha (IIC Coordinators) and
concluded by Miss Meghana from 3rd bsc with a vote of thanks.
