Sophia International Academy is a school of excellence and it represents the academic and formative aspects imparted by St Joseph’s Children’s Village. His Holiness Pope Francis blessed the foundation stone of the main building of the Sophia International Academy during a private audience granted to the Founder Director Msgr Antony G. Kollamparampil and the Principal Sister Bridget on 4 December 2

013. The Sophia is noted for its international excellence, underpinned by global perspectives as well as traditional Indian culture and spirituality. The Sophia sets its scope in imparting a holistic development to the students, who are known as the Sophites, so that they are empowered to be excellent and best to lead tomorrow’s society. The Sophia is a co-educational institution open to both residential and day-students. It offers a quality education irrespective of the social or economic standing of the child. It focuses in a particular manner on bright minds that are otherwise not able to afford a quality education. The word “Sophia” has its origin in the Greek language and it means “wisdom”; it stands for a higher form of knowledge. The Sophia International Academy, therefore, sets the scope of imparting a better and higher level of learning to its students.
