Samaikyāndhra Udyamamu; United Andhra Movement) was a movement organized to keep the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh united, and to prevent the division of the state - separating the Telangana districts of the state into a separate Telangana state.[1][2][3] The movement is supported by government employees, advocates in Coastal Andhra & Rayalaseema regions along with students from 14 universities, various occupational, caste & religious groups of Coastal Andhra & Rayalaseema regions.[4] The current set of protests which were trigerred after the Congress Working Committee decision to divide the state came to an end after President of India gave nod to Telangana Bill which would make the latter to come into existence from June 2, 2014.

Nurturing the young minds to compete & be a winner
“Thought and Planning before action is the key to accomplishment. Nothing can stop us if we are determined and persistent. Never shy from hardwork and exhibit perseverance. That will help us succeed in our quest for excellence.”

The world of child is a storehouse of multi-colored impressions. To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sh. Srinivasa Ramanujan and to actively promote interest of students in Mathematics and its application, math’s fair was celebrated in GOLDEN VALLEY INTRNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL ON 22nd December 2014 with lot of zest and enthusiasm.

As directed by the principal Rafi garu, the stated competitions were organized. Essay Writing Competition, Poster competitions were organized related to various Mathematical topics. Quiz competition was organized class wise. To make the study of Mathematics more interesting power point presentations were made on certain topics related to NCERT syllabus and the best ones were presented.

Students eagerly participated in these competitions. They were happy to share their innovative ideas on various Mathematical topics. The photographs are attached with this report. More such activities can really make study of Mathematics more interesting than the usual classroom lectures or written practice.

A Math Fair is a non-competitive problem solving event that gives teachers an opportunity to have their students do problem solving with a particular goal in mind. The math fair can be adapted to almost any curriculum and set of standards, and it will motivate and inspire all of the students. Below we have added ‘good problems’ for teachers and students to use for Math Fairs and general classroom use.

To encourage and bring out the talents in our students, the cultural committee organizes various events and programs during the school year. The students are motivated to participate with full enthusiasm in all the events.

Education cannot happen just at school—it must go beyond the walls of the classroom. Watching a play performed live is quite a different experience than reading a play from a book.
