G.H.G Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana

GHG Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd, through its NSS Unit and Legal Aid Clinic, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ludhiana, organized an online Drug Awareness Webinar on 26 June 2026 via Google Meet. The webinar aimed to create awareness among students, faculty members, and the community about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of adopting a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
The programme commenced with a welcome address highlighting the growing menace of drug addiction and its detrimental impact on individuals, families, and society. The resource person, Sh. Manpreet Singh, Assistant LADC, delivered an insightful and informative session on various aspects of substance abuse. He elaborated on the physical, psychological, social, and legal consequences of drug addiction and emphasized the need for collective efforts to eradicate this social evil.
During the webinar, participants were educated about preventive measures, rehabilitation facilities, and the legal framework relating to drug abuse. The speaker also underscored the crucial role of youth in spreading awareness and contributing towards a drug-free society.
Students actively participated in the interactive session by raising questions and sharing their perspectives. The webinar effectively conveyed the message, “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life,” inspiring participants to make informed decisions and embrace a healthy lifestyle
The webinar concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shweta Dhand, Officiating Principal. She expressed sincere gratitude to DLSA, Ludhiana, the resource person, faculty members, and students for their valuable participation and support.

G.H.G. Institute of Law Receives Platinum Sustainable Campus Partner Recognition

G.H.G. Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd, has been awarded the prestigious “Platinum Sustainable Campus Partner” recognition under the Bharat Environment Program – A Bharat Sustainability Campus Mission 2026. The certificate was conferred by the Research Heights Foundation in association with EPTRI during Earth Week (April 22–29, 2026).

The institution received the Certificate of Institutional Participation in recognition of its exemplary commitment to sustainability, environmental awareness, and meaningful engagement of students and faculty in promoting the vision of a sustainable Bharat.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Shweta Dhand, Principal, G.H.G. Institute of Law, expressed pride in the achievement and appreciated the collective efforts of the Eco Club members for actively participating in environmental initiatives and awareness campaigns. She stated that the recognition reflects the institution’s dedication towards environmental stewardship and sustainable development.

The college has consistently organized activities related to environmental conservation, including tree plantation drives, awareness rallies, Earth Day celebrations, water conservation campaigns, energy conservation initiatives, and community outreach programmes. Such efforts have strengthened environmental consciousness among students and encouraged responsible citizenship.

The Principal congratulated the Nodal Officer of Environment Education Program and Eco Club incharge Dr. Neelam Rani and Eco Club members Ms. Sarbjit Kaur and Ajaypal Singh on this accomplishment and reiterated the institution’s commitment to advancing sustainability practices and contributing towards a greener and more sustainable future for the nation.

WORKSHOP ON FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS 01-06-2026

Recognizing the importance of fire safety knowledge, G.H.G Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd organized a comprehensive Fire Safety Awareness Program for its students on 01-06-2026. The program aimed to equip the students, teachers and other staff members with the necessary skills and knowledge to prevent fire hazards and respond effectively in case of emergencies.

The Workshop was conducted under the guidance of Off. Principal Dr.Shweta Dhand in which Fire Safety expert from Ludhiana threw light on the different kinds of fires and delivered information on various aspects of fire safety covering common causes of fire outbreaks and highlighted preventative measures such as proper electrical wiring maintenance, safe handling of flammable materials, and regular fire extinguisher checks.

Students and faculty members received information on the proper use of different types of fire extinguishers along with valuable knowledge and practical skills to Identify and mitigate potential fire hazards, Operate fire extinguishers safely and effectively and raise awareness about fire safety in the community.

In the end a live demonstration on the use of Fire extinguisher was also conducted in which both teachers, students and other staff members participated with full zeal.

The Fire Safety Awareness Workshop proved to be a valuable learning experience to the students with essential life skills and fostering a culture of safety and preparedness.
