ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਫਾਰ ਵਿਮੈਨ ਝਾੜ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਸਰਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਹੇਠ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਕਲਚਰਲ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ “ਮੇਲਾ ਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਖੋਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ “ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ । ਇਸ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਬੀ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਪਵਾਤ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਸੁਖਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਆਰੰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਹੋਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵੰਨਗੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਗੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਹਾਵਰੇਦਾਰ ਵਾਰਤਾਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ।ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਬੀ .ਏ. ,ਬੀ.ਸੀ.ਏ.,ਬੀ. ਕਾਮ.ਅਤੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ.ਐਫ.ਡੀ. ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗਿੱਧੇ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਰੰਗੋਲੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਕਲਾਵਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਛਿੱਕੂ ,ਪੱਖੀ, ਨਾਲੇ ,ਪਰਾਂਦੇ, ਗੁੱਡੀਆਂ ਪਟੋਲੇ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਸਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ। ਮਿਸ ਤੀਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਰੰਗ ਬਿਰੰਗੇ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ।
ਇਸ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਰੋਮਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਹਰਮਨਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸੁਨੱਖੀ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਟਾਫ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲਾ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ । ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਯੁਗ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਤੇ ਤੀਜ ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ।ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਫੁੱਲਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਸਕਣ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਬਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਮਾਨ ,ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਅਨੂਪ ਕੌਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਸਾਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੱਧੂ , ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਕੰਗ , ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕੌਰ, ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ , ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਵਰਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ,ਜੋਤੀ ਕੌਰ ,ਜਗਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਨਯੋਗ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ । ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਡਾ. ਮਹੀਪਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ,ਡਾ. ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸੁਖਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਅਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਕਾਲਜ ਸਟਾਫ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਏ ਹੋਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।

Tiranga Awareness and Pledge Programme Organised in College

Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women, Jhar Sahib (Ludhiana), organised a “Tiranga Awareness and Pledge Programme” through its NSS Unit, dedicated to Independence Day. The programme was organised under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rajinder Kaur, with the support of Dr. Sunita Kaushal and NSS Programme Officers Dr. Mandeep Kaur and Prof. Sukhanpreet Kaur. The objective of the programme was to inculcate among the students a sense of respect for the National Flag, patriotism, unity and responsible citizenship.

During the programme, the students were made aware of the significance of the Indian Tricolour and the meaning of its three colours and the Ashoka Chakra. The saffron colour represents courage and sacrifice, white symbolises peace and truth, while green represents growth and prosperity. The Ashoka Chakra conveys the message of righteousness, duty and continuous progress.

On the occasion, all the students and NSS volunteers took a pledge to respect the Tricolour, uphold the unity and integrity of the nation, and follow constitutional values. The students pledged to contribute towards the progress, cleanliness and peace of the country and to fulfil their responsibilities as citizens.

The programme strengthened the spirit of “Tiranga Hamari Shaan, Bharat Hamari Jaan” among the students. The programme concluded with everyone expressing their unity and respect for the nation with the slogan “Jai Hind!”

Dept of Sociology of Guru Gobind Singh khalsa College for Women Jhar Sahib celebrated Independence Day today by organising Interclass Poster making & Slogan Writing Competitions on the theam " Nasha Mukat Yuva in Viksit Bharat ". Various students participated in the event with deep thoughts expressed through their posters & Slogans as well. Judges of the today's event were Dr Ranjit Kaur, Dr Mahipinder Kaur, Mrs Jasvir Kaur & Sh Mukesh Sharma. As the Competition was too tough , judges found it harder to finalise. Various suggestions were also given by the judges regarding further improvement . Students were also encouraged to bring awareness regarding the Nasha Mukati sankalp in the society & how we can save the life of young ones engaged in drug addiction. At the end Dr Sunita Kaushal pay gratitude to our worthy Secretary Education Sir S.Sukhminder Singh ji & Our respected Principal Madam Dr Rajinder Kaur ji for providing such platforms time to time for educating & generating awareness among youngsters regarding social evils . lastly thanked all the judges for spearing their valuable time & Ms Aarti for covering the whole event . A blood donation camp was organised at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women, Jhar Sahib, on 7 August 2026 on the sacred occasion of the Barsi Samagam of Sant Baba Pyara Singh Ji. The camp was organised with the joint efforts of Panchayat, Jhar Sahib; College LMC members-S.Harjatinder Singh Bajwa, S.Paramjeet Singh Dhillon, S.Jasmel Singh Bondli, S. Hardeep Singh Behlolpur, S.Jaspal Singh Jajj and Dr.Kirpal Singh, Deputy Director, Agriculture & State Awardee, Deptt of Youth Services, Punjab along with all medical support by Government Hospital, Samrala; Government Hospital, Ludhiana, NSS Unit, Red Cross, Red Ribbon Club and Social Self-Help Group.

The camp witnessed an encouraging response from the community, with more than 100 units of blood donated. Members of the Sangat, village youth, NSS volunteers and college staff actively participated in the noble cause and came forward to donate blood. The enthusiastic participation reflected a strong spirit of social responsibility, community service and humanitarian concern.

The medical teams from Government Hospital, Samrala and Government Hospital, Ludhiana ensured the smooth and safe conduct of the blood donation process. The NSS Unit, Red Cross, Red Ribbon Club, Social Self-Help Group, Panchayat members and volunteers extended their dedicated support in managing the camp and motivating people to participate.

The camp served as a meaningful tribute to the memory and legacy of Sant Baba Pyara Singh Ji, while also spreading awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. The successful collection of more than 100 units demonstrated the collective commitment of the college and the surrounding community towards saving lives and serving humanity.

NSS Programme Officers- Dr.Mandeep Kaur, Mrs.Sukhanpreet Kaur, Incharge of Red Cross-Ms.Aarti Rani, Incharge of Red Ribbon Club-Ms.Amandeep Kaur. Also, among college staff S.Ranbir Singh, S.Sukhvir Singh, S.Rajinder Singh, Smt.Sarabjit Kaur, S.Jagjit Singh, S.Harkamal Singh and Smt.Babita Rani were present during the event.
The event concluded with appreciation for all donors and volunteers whose participation made the blood donation camp a successful and socially impactful initiative.
Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Principal of the College, expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the camp. She sincerely thanked the entire organising team, LMC members, medical and hospital staff, social activists, blood donors, NSS volunteers, village youth and members of the Sangat for their valuable cooperation and selfless service.

“Induction program organized on Importance of Library “
In the able guidance of Principal Dr Rajinder kaur and under aegis of IQAC an induction program for students of Guru Gobind Singh khalsa College for Women,Jhar sahib was organised by the College librarian Mrs Kulwinder Kaur. She helped students to know about the books related to all subjects. Also she demonstrated the way that how students can easily find the book they need. While appreciating Mrs. Kulwinder kaur for organising this program principal madam said that books help develop a love for reading and improve language and vocabulary. In library readers can borrow books and other materials for free.
As library is a valuable source of knowledge that helps individuals grow intellectually, improve their skills, and become informed members of society.

Educational Trip to Gurudwara Sri Gobindgarh Sahib,Ranwan and Thunder Zone

Under the able guidance of Principal Dr.Rajinder Kaur of Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College For Women, Jhar Sahib, Ludhiana, organized an educational and recreational trip for the students of Classes XI and XII. The students visited Gurudwara Sri Gobindgarh Sahib, Ranwan where they paid their respects and sought the blessings of the Almighty. The visit helped students learn about the rich Sikh heritage and students proceeded to Thunder Zone Amusement and Water Park, Landran, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), where they enjoyed various amusement rides, water slides, and recreational activities. The excursion provided an excellent opportunity for students to relax, strengthen friendships, and develop teamwork and leadership qualities outside the classroom.
The trip was conducted under the supervision of the faculty members, who ensured the safety and discipline of all students throughout the journey.

Bhog Sri Sehaj Path Sahib at the commencement of new academic session 2026-27.

Under the guidance of Secretary Education (Er.) S.Sukhminder Singh Ji and under able supervision of our Principal Mam-Dr.Rajinder Kaur Ji, at the eve of commencement of new academic session 2026-2027, Bhog of Sri Sehaj Path Sahib was completed at gurudwara Sri Jhar Sahib with great devotion and spiritual fervour for the well-being, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment of the students, staff, and society at large. The event started with the recitment of shabad kirtan by Head of Music Department-Dr.Amanpreet Kaur Kang and students of the department. S.Harjatinder Singh Bajwa (Additional Secretary, College LMC), S.Hardeep Singh (Vice-President, College LMC), S.Avtar Singh Ji Riya (Ex Junior President and Member, SGPC), S.Paramjeet Singh Dhillon (Member, LMC and Area Incharge, SAD, Samrala), S.Amrik Singh Hedian (Member, LMC), S.Charanjit Singh Lakhowal (Member, LMC), Bibi Paramjeet Kaur Kang (Ex Counsellor, Samrala), Bibi Parkash Kaur (Ex Counsellor), Bibi Tejinder Kaur Dhillon ( Counsellor, Samrala), Bibi Surinder Kaur ( Ex Counsellor) and Mr.Paramjit Singh Raj (Counsellor) and Sahir Kaur Sidhu (President, Women wing, SAD, Samrala) have made this religious ceremony more graceful with their presence. All the newly admitted students along with old ones and college staff attended the whole event at Gurdwara Sahib. On this occasion, the members of the Local Management Committee addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to follow the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, strive for excellence in academics, and uphold moral and ethical values in their daily lives. The Principal, Dr. Rajinder Kaur highlighted the importance of such spiritual gatherings in nurturing character, discipline, and holistic development among students. She appreciated the efforts of the College LMC members and thanked everyone for their participation and support.
The event served as a meaningful reminder of the timeless teachings of Gurbani and inspired the students to lead lives rooted in faith, compassion, and service to humanity.
