A two-day Bharatanatyam masterclass by Dr. Padmaja Suresh from Bangalore unfolded as an enriching journey of expression and rhythm. Her choreography “Vasant Ritu”, set to the evocative lines “चैत चिंता लगी जीव को, तन पे कछु ना सुहाय..”, beautifully portrayed the emotions of the Prosh*tpatika Nayika. The presentation flowed into the vibrant spirit of Holi, bringing alive the Raas of Krishna, Radha, and their sakhis with colour and devotion. A seamless blend of abhinaya, storytelling, and grace marked the experience, culminating in an energetic Tillana.

An enriching and immersive workshop on Thumri and Khayal Gayaki by Vidushi Shubha Guha was successfully conducted at Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Lucknow from 16th to 19th February. Rooted in the profound legacy of Padma Bhushan Begum Akhtar, the sessions beautifully explored the depth, grace, and emotional nuances of classical vocal traditions.

Students were given a rare opportunity to closely understand the finer aesthetics of voice modulation, expression, raga development, and the delicate artistry that defines Thumri and Khayal. Each session became a space for dedicated riyaaz, meaningful dialogue, and experiential learning, leaving participants enriched with invaluable musical insights.

After the workshop concluded, the Head of the Vocal Department, Dr. Srishti Mathur, conducted an interview with Vidushi Shubha Guha, during which she generously shared her musical journey, experiences, and reflections making the entire event not only educational but truly inspiring.

A five-day intensive workshop by Pt.Aseem Bandhu Bhattacharya was conducted from 10th February to 14th February 2026.

The sessions provided structured training and in depth understanding of the nuances of Indian classical music, offering a valuable academic experience to all the students.

The second day of Sarngadeva Samaroha, Music & Dance Festival jointly organised by Mahagami Arts Research Foundation and Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Lucknow emerged as a meaningful confluence of scholarship, tradition and performance.

The evening was graced by insightful and evocative performances from Assistant Professor Dr. Ruchi Khare and Head of the Department Dance, Shri Gyanendra Dutt Bajpai, whose presentations reflected artistic maturity, academic depth, and a deep-rooted connection to classical aesthetics.

Adding a vibrant dimension to the programme was the performance by Student Vallary Narayan Pathak.
The event was further enriched by the compelling performance of Parwati Dutta, which resonated strongly with grace, expression and rhythmic precision.

Together, these performances reflected the richness of Indian classical traditions and reaffirmed Sarngadeva Samaroha as an important platform for artistic presentation and academic engagement.
