✓ 1 dead, flight ops hit after portion of roof collapses at Delhi airport’s Terminal 1 amid heavy rains.
At least one person died and eight others were injured after a portion of the roof at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1 collapsed on cars early on Friday. All flight departures from terminal were also temporarily suspended.
This comes on a day when the national capital has been witnessing incessant rains with the Safdarjung base station seeing 228.1 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours till 8.30 am today.

A day after Latur police arrested a 34-year-old headmaster of a Zilla Parishad school for his alleged links to the NEET-UG paper leak case, the police early Tuesday arrested a 40-year-old teacher.

The police claim that the teacher, identified as Sanjay Jadhav, was a mediator between the Delhi-based mastermind, Gangadhar Munde, and two accused from Maharashtra— headmaster Pathan and one Iranna Kongalwar, who is absconding.

Why NDA and Opposition failed to reach a consensus?
✓ On Monday night, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh engaged with Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, and other opposition leaders to seek consensus on Om Birla’s nomination. According to Congress sources, Kharge raised the issue of the Deputy Speaker during their discussion and was informed it could be addressed on Tuesday morning. However, just before the noon deadline for Speaker nominations on Tuesday, the ruling party requested signatures on Birla’s nomination papers without committing to the Deputy Speaker issue.

The 53rd Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council met in Delhi under the Chairpersonship of Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, on Saturday (June 22, 2024). The council recommended taxes on items such as milk cans and solar cookers and announced some relief for students living in certain kinds of rented accommodation. It also reduced the GST on cartons from 18% to 12% to provide relief to apple farmers in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

राष्ट्रपति से मंजूरी मिलने के बाद मंत्रालय नियुक्त किए गए प्रोटेम स्पीकर और अन्य सांसदों के पैनल को नियुक्ति के बारे में सूचित करता है। इसके बाद राष्ट्रपति, राष्ट्रपति भवन में प्रोटेम स्पीकर को शपथ दिलाते हैं। वहीं सांसदों के पैनल को प्रोटेम स्पीकर द्वारा शपथ दिलाई जाती है। इसके बाद अन्य सभी सांसदों को प्रोटेम स्पीकर शपथ दिलाते हैं। लोकसभा की कार्यवाही शुरू होने से पहले ही सांसदों को शपथ दिलाई जाती है।
