It has been rightly said that the worst people in society are those who loudly condemn the mistakes and aberrations of the weak, but maintain criminal silence over the mistakes of the powerful people.Such double standard and hypocrisy often prevail in the society where the vulnerable and marginalized sections are harshly judged while as the affluent and powerful people are spared and held least accountable.It is obligatory upon us to Speak truth and stand by the truth irrespective of the status of the person in whose favour or against whom we are speaking.Holding everyone responsible for his actions is essential for a just and equitable society,for protecting the rights of underprivileged and downtrodden people and also for curbing the abuse of power, influence and authority.

We should never be envious of other peoples' happiness,as we don't know the share of sorrow and grief they might be enduring.We see only the bright aspects of the people as they keep the gloomy part usually concealed because of various reasons.We should realise that all of us as humans have ups and downs in lives and we all face unique challenges in our respective lives and none of us ever lives in the comfort zone only.This realisation will definitely develope in us empathy and kindness for other people and sense of gratitude for the bounties we have been blessed with.

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement.Further whoever helps to ease a person's difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the hereafter and whoever covers the faults of a Muslim, Allah will cover his faults in the world and the hereafter. Allah is engaged in helping the worshipper as long as the worshipper is engaged in helping his brother.”

Owing to our limited vision,we often regret over the unfulfilled aspirations and the irony of fate.The remedy to the unbridled wants and yearnings is to have faith in Allah and believe that plans of Allah are better than our desires.The plans of Allah are often beyond our understanding,as they encompass wisdom, knowledge, and a greater purpose.While our desires may be limited to what we perceive as good or beneficial, Allah's plans are aligned with what is ultimately best for us in this life and the hereafter,as the Quran beautifully reminds us:...
"But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you, and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not."
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216)

For politicians,maintaining transparency, being inclusive in managing the affairs, practising humility and constant engagement with the people are essential in maintaining trust and avoiding the pitfalls because of anti incumbency.It has been earlier witnessed in many cases that elected politicians become arrogant after gaining power and become disconnected from the concerns of the people, they represent.One example i Would like to cite is that of a politician,who because of influence and power and sense of invincibility and entitlement had developed such a nature.I remember when a delegation of our community visited his residence for the resolution of some of our burning issues.I was compelled by my companions to plead the issue before him.I started with "I seek refuge in Almighty Allah from Shaitan the rejected one".The politician immediately retorted by saying that the shaitaan had already been encaged and told me to sit down to continue on with my submissions.The person not only offended and humiliated me but also undermined and devalued Quran by resorting to such a conceited behaviour,which is unbecoming of a mature and a seasoned politician.
Best of luck and best wishes to the candidates who won today and we earnestly hope and pray that they would represent the peoples' aspirations and work in tandem with them with humility, transparency, inclusiveness and constant touch with the people as their guiding principles.
