DIET Kulgam Concludes Capacity-Building Programme on Methodology of Social Science

DIET Kulgam today concluded its Capacity-Building Programme on the Methodology of Social Science with active participation and meaningful academic engagement from the trainees.

The academic session of the concluding day was conducted by Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Teacher, HS Kujar, who delivered an insightful session on Assessment Tools in Social Science Teaching. He highlighted various formative and summative assessment techniques, emphasizing their role in evaluating learning outcomes and enhancing classroom effectiveness.

The Programme Coordinator, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Itoo, interacted with the participants and highlighted the objectives and overall significance of the training programme in strengthening the teaching-learning process. Participants appreciated the relevance and practical orientation of the session.

After the completion of the training programme, certificates were distributed among the participants, and feedback was obtained from the trainees to assess the effectiveness and impact of the programme.

The programme concluded with a note of appreciation for the resource person and participants for their active involvement and commitment towards professional development.

DIET Kulgam Continues Capacity-Building Programme on Methodology of Social Science (Day–II)

DIET Kulgam continued its Capacity-Building Programme on the Methodology of Social Science on Day–II with active participation and academic engagement.

The first academic session of the day was conducted by Mr. Muzaffer Ahmad Lone, Teacher, PS Ganie Mohalla Pariwan, who delivered a session on ICT in Social Science Teaching. He highlighted the effective use of digital tools and technology-enabled strategies to make Social Science teaching more interactive, engaging, and learner-centric.

The second session was conducted by Mr. Javid Ahmad Rathar, Teacher, PM Shri Middle School Pariwan, who spoke on Teaching Social Science at the Lower Level. His session focused on age-appropriate pedagogical approaches, activity-based learning, and strengthening foundational concepts among learners.

DIET Kulgam Starts Capacity-Building Programme on Methodology of Social Science

DIET Kulgam commenced a capacity-building programme on the Methodology of Social Science with great enthusiasm.

The programme was formally inaugurated by the Worthy Principal, DIET Kulgam, Mtr. Rifat Sarosh, who highlighted the significance of such training programmes in enhancing teachers’ professional competencies and improving classroom practices.

The first academic session was conducted by Dr. Ashfaq Masood Ali, Assistant Professor, GDC Bijbehara, who deliberated on Why to Teach Social Science, focusing on themes such as knowledge, power, and classroom dynamics. His session provided valuable insights into the philosophical and practical foundations of teaching Social Science.

The second session was led by Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Master, who spoke on Pedagogy and the Use of ICT in Social Science Teaching. He emphasized innovative teaching strategies and the effective integration of technology to make learning more engaging and learner-centric.

DIET Kulgam Concludes Capacity-Building Programmes on Science and EVS.

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kulgam today successfully concluded two capacity-building programmes on Science and Environmental Studies (EVS), aimed at strengthening teachers’ pedagogical competencies and subject-specific understanding.

The EVS programme was conducted by Mr. Fayaz Ahmad, who facilitated an engaging session on pedagogy, with special emphasis on hands-on and activity-based learning. The session focused on practical classroom strategies to make EVS teaching more interactive, experiential, and learner-centred.

The Science programme was conducted by Mr. Irshad Ahmad, who delivered an insightful session on “Matter and How to Teach Science.” The session highlighted conceptual clarity, scientific inquiry, and effective teaching methodologies to enhance students’ understanding of scientific concepts.

Both sessions were highly interactive and well-received by the participants. Teachers appreciated the relevance of the content and the practical approach adopted by the resource persons. At the conclusion of the programmes, certificates were distributed among the trainees in recognition of their active participation.

DIET Kulgam Organises One-Day Workshop on Modern Methods of Teaching Mathematics.

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kulgam today organised a one-day workshop on Modern Methods of Teaching Mathematics with the objective of strengthening teachers’ pedagogical competencies and promoting effective, innovative, and learner-centred classroom practices. The workshop aimed to equip teachers with modern instructional strategies to enhance students’ conceptual understanding and interest in mathematics.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session in which the worthy Chief Education Officer, Kulgam, Mr. Mohd Shabir, addressed the participants. In his address, he highlighted the pivotal role of mathematics in developing logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills among learners. He emphasized the need to adopt innovative, activity-based, and child-centric approaches in the teaching of mathematics to make the subject more engaging and meaningful for students.

During the inaugural session, the worthy Principal, DIET Kulgam, Ms. Rifat Sarosh, also shared her valuable insights and highlighted the objectives and significance of the workshop. He emphasized practical exposure, efficient management of digital resources, and the importance of ICT labs in strengthening classroom teaching.

Principal DIET Kulgam Delivers Address on Holistic Progress Card at DC Office Kulgam
The Worthy Principal, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kulgam, Madam Mtr. Rifat Sarosh, today delivered an insightful address on the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) at a conference held in the Conference Hall, DC Office Kulgam.
The programme was attended by the Worthy Director School Education Kashmir, Mr. Naseer Ahmad Wani, and the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Mr. Vikar Giri, along with other senior officers and education functionaries.
During her speech, Madam Rifat Sarosh elaborated on the concept and significance of the Holistic Progress Card as envisioned under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing comprehensive and continuous assessment of learners focusing on academic, co-curricular, and socio-emotional development. She highlighted the role of teachers and institutions in effective implementation of HPC to ensure learner-centric and competency-based education.
The dignitaries appreciated the deliberations and reiterated the importance of adopting holistic assessment practices for strengthening the school education system in the district.
