Here are a few ways you can better your prospect of cracking the Sainik School Entrance Exam.

1. Organize Yourself

You need to organize yourself to keep a tab of things amidst doing the homework, tests and the extracurricular activities. You can try using a planner to keep things organized. Write down the appointments, assignments and the to-do lists. You can take the help of your parents in making the planner for you. Your parents will make a schedule including all the subjects you need to study as well as adequate study breaks. Taking adequate study breaks will help you to retain the information better as this is the one that facilitates long term memory retention. Make sure you try to stay on track and stick to the schedule. Try not to waste your time and study as hard as you can.

2. Exercise before You Start Studying

It is better to exercise before you sit down to study. At times, you may not be able to exercise. In such a case, go for a short walk. Taking a walk just in front of your house would do but make sure that you do not try roaming inside your house. Fresh air has a significant role to play in helping you concentrate.

3. Take Breaks Frequently

You must be well aware of the fact that all work and no play never helps. So, make sure that you take breaks frequently. Breaks are proved to boost productivity and focus. A study has found out that the additional resources of brain drop after you try to focus on a task for a very long period. This decreases your focus and hinders performance substantially. If you don’t want that, plan breaks properly.

4. Sit Down to Study Everyday

Make sure that you sit down to study everyday. It is crucial to have a routine while you are preparing for Sainik School Entrance Exam. At times, you may think that you would make that up the next day, this is not possible. You would lag behind if you do not study everyday. On the weekends, you may not sit down to study for that long, but it is crucial to study for an hour or two at least. Try not to break the routine.

5. Don’t Hesitate to Get Help

Do not hesitate to get help. Struggling to understand the new concepts is a significant part of the studying and the learning process. If you are struggling with a subject or a question, ask questions. If you are still finding difficulties responding to the concepts, you can consider getting in touch with a tutor.

6. Fight Off Social Media

Do you use the social networking websites like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Instagram? If yes, make sure you stay away from it. You can check out on the social networking websites after you are done with your studies. Make sure you do not check out on the social networking websites while you are studying. Keep the cellphones and the computer switched off while you study.
Last but not the least, make sure that you are studying in a comfortable environment. This will help you concentrate.

Wish you the best.

How To Prepare Your Child For A Hostel Life In Prince Sainik Academy

Here are some pointers to keep in mind before you think of sending your child to a hostel along with how to best prepare your child for the hostel life.

1. Before you plan on sending your child to hostel, please have a warm, affectionate, loving and comforting conversation with your child. Make him/her understand the value of studying in a boarding school.

2. Do not use boarding school as a tool to punish your child for not adhering to the rules laid down by you or not behaving well. Even if you are causally just mentioning it quite frequently, it will instil fear in your child's mind and heart. You as a parent need to be very clear why you would want your child to study in a boarding school.

3. You must be knowing what is your child's interest, introduce your child to some renowned personalities who have been ex boarders to boost his/her morale.

4. Once you feel your child is excited to know more about the life in boarding school, start preparing him/her for the routine, for eg. Getting up early in the morning, keeping the room clean, organizing books and clothes on his own.

5. Take your child to the school and take a tour of the campus along with your child to check the facilities he is going to have during his/her stay. Let your child examine the facilities available, meet some of the staff and so on. This will make your child excited about joining.

6. All throughout till the time the final day of movement comes, keep listening for any concerns, fears or apprehensions that your child might have.
